lift kit capable spacers vs coilovers 04 taco

im in the market for a lift kit i love to wheel .. i have 32s for the truck with steelies and its my daily driver and i tow a boat with it when needed..

my question is i have no problem shelling out money for a coilover kit ..im lookin at the ultimate kit from toyotec it has coilovers but im wandering will this kit give me any more capable of a trail truck than say a 300.00 spacer kit..

i hear the spacer kit gives a better ride but this doesnt tell me it wheels better whats the imput on this ??? is it worth the 700 more for coilovers..

 

Stay away from the spacers and go with coilovers; you and your truck will appreciate the better quality.

 

YES if you wheel a lot it is worth it for coilovers! The spacers will wear your front end out and hurt susp travel. You could go with the Old Man Emu susp and be fine.

 

Look into some Camburg or ICON Coilovers. And a 3 leaf AAL for the rear.

 

camburg and icon are 1000 for just coilovers ?? there that much better that toyotec??

 

i love my toytec coilovers! They ride great both on and off road. You wont be disapointed.

But the Camburg's or Icons, or even Kings. I hear are very good for more offroading needs.
If your looking for some more travel. Then you could do a mid. travel set-up. With new TC or Camburg UCA's, and then Icon Extended Coilovers.

 

It really depends on what kind of driving you plan doing with the vehicle: pavement only, dirt roads, rocks, baja. The above mentioned brands do tend to lean towards some baja style driving.

The Toytec's, unlike the above mentioned, do carry with them a Life Time warranty. The coilover's are a stress free suspension component, plus, they still give you the option to dial in your exact ride height fro the front!

Would the OME 881's with a matching shock (5100 set to 0) essentially be the same thing as a non-adjustable coilover in terms of ride quality and height?
