Not to mention, then you need to install said mobile unit. That's a bunch of hours that can be spent elsewhere preparing .

 

I think I'm just going to do the fr-8900r right off the bat. I like the concept of the ftm-100 but really everyone around here uses dmr. So I'll most likely get a dual band dmr HT and said mobile. I want the crossband and quadband for the future

Saturday Dinner

@m603holden is Exec Chef and @Grand dude is Sous Chef.

Each person/family bring a main dish, hopefully something from your cultural heritage (I'll bring a Filipino main dish.) Dessert is very optional(I have found that we end up with too many desserts if everyone brought.)

BRING YOUR OWN PLATES,SILVERWARE/PLASTICWARE/SERVING SPOONS/CUPS/BEER MUGS/WINE GLASSES, etc.

If you don’t exactly know what to bring just yet, let me know if MAIN dish, SIDE dish, DESSERT, BEVERAGE, etc.

I had thought about that the other day. Wife is on a new diet and can’t eat a lot of things so I didn’t know her plan on food for the weekend. Have to see what she’s planning on, maybe I’ll bring taco stuff.

 

When i go camping we do bagged taco's. Bring a few mini bags of doritos nacho cheese, cook up some taco meat, strain the greases and drop it into the bag of crunched up dorito's!

 

Sounds like the perfect diet food!

So as usual the GF has gone and made other plans for next weekend, even going as far to write them on the calendar in the same block that I wrote "TW Waterfall trip" on. So I told her she was on her own this time because I already had plans

 

What's she doing that's more exciting than this??? Maybe we can all join her?

 

She's hiking a mountain that's 3 hours away from Profile Falls with some friends.

 

Nah. I'll stick to this! I get told to take a hike all the time!

 

Same. I told her about this event over a month ago, warned her not to make other plans, and put it on the calendar. True to form, when I reminded her about it Monday night she said 'we can't go; we're hiking Tumbledown with _____ that Saturday' so I laughed at her and said 'no, you're hiking Tumbledown with _________; I'm going to NH like I told you I would'

The rest of the night was pretty quiet.

 

I'm making an executive decision and leaving training early. We can go up together if you're up to it. I just have to call tonight and book a room.

And I don't have anything ready since I stumbled upon this thread yesterday.

 

That'd be cool, but I'm going Friday and camping. You going Friday and just not camping?
