Not running macOS. I seem to remember reading a post ftom someone who got it working with a MacBook Pro running Bootcamped Windows 10, but I'm not sure about that.

You CAN use your MacBook Pro and it's functional but performance isn't the best (mine would fail to flash frequently) but that's how I did all my flashing for the first few months so it will work it just may take multiple attempts.

"Guys on MacBooks: I found a super easy(and free) way to run windows.
    -download virtual box
    -download windows .iso
Got all the info here: https://www.cultofmac.com/307503/run-windows-10-mac-free/

I've since picked up a cheap $150 lenovo with windows that I use just for flashing and techstream/logging. works better and doesn't require me to give up a big chunk of space on my MacBook pro for a windows partition...

So you successfully used Windows running in a VirtualBox VM? Did you ever try using Bootcamp instead?

I did not but it should work. VirtualBox required less resources (esp. disc space) so I went that route. I played with Bootcamp previously and while it would probably work I just didn't want to go that route....

In the end I wish I would have just not wasted time messing with virtual machines (and I'm a tech guy to the core) and just bit the bullet and picked up a dedicated el cheapo windows laptop from the get-go.

it was not a sniffer test. It was a federal emissions test that went over every aspect of the vehicle and tested 3 separate times including a 500 mile soak test. There is a small amount of this information on our website now including emissions reading numbers. The image on our site is a tiny piece of a multi page document that covers all of the testing requirements.

Passing the basic sniff test or "OBD check" emissions test is not what we are talking about. The test our tune was given was the test that OEM vehicles go through for compliance.

You assume wrong and your post puts it a negative light against our product..

if you don't know... why make an assumption and try to pass it off as fact

Should have put that info in the original post. Still doesn't present what the requirements were. Just that they were met. I get the puff piece marketing but don't see the big deal. My comment wasn't negative or positive, just pointing out a lack of details.

So "we don't have the details, probably was a simple sniff test."

I get you don't like the product and are not happy with the tune but it is getting tiring at this point. baseless assumptions because you don't have the information.. puff piece marketing? This has been a year in the making and has nothing to do with marketing. It has to do with making the best tune we can, as we promised everyone.
Lack of details means wait for the details, not begin input your own wrong answers.

You were one of a minuscule minority who decided not to keep the tune... and are also "happy" with the stock tune which to many of us who have the tune is beyond comprehension. That said, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and to make decisions around how you want to spend your money and no should judge someone for that.

But a vendor is also entitled to a fair shake and making assumptions without information or even hinting at integrity issues is just not cool. Mat's done some good work here and the overwhelming majority of us couldn't be happier! Tinkering ahead for refinements, sure but this truck is not the same truck (for me) tuned. I wouldn't be driving it anymore if I was still dealing with the bogging, rich, happy shifting, low MPG thing stock...

Then why post the information without the details? Don't lead people to make their own assumptions, provide the facts.

Seriously, not being negative regarding the emissions testing, just be nice to have the actual numbers. Saying you passed a test with the tune but not knowing the parameters of the test or how the tuned vehicle bettered the stock oem tune in the same test...well...vague. I'm sorry that it's offensive to question a vendor's posts. Seems to be the norm here. Clarification is always best.

This. He wasn't happy with the tune and there's nothing wrong with that. But it's time to move on because at this point it's as if he's just out to slam Mat at every opportunity and at this extent, well that's just shamefully embarassing. No need for him to police the thread with Mat as his only target.

Let's get back to the actual subject manner of the tune and quit all the bickering!

Why’re you questioning? Thinking about going back to the tune? Or just trolling?

I'm excited to hear about the new intake and exhaust! At least not for now, will I be able to unlock $6k to go forced but we haven't heard a lot about the intake and exhaust options @OVTune is working on.

I'm starting to read this more often that owners were considering getting rid of their trucks until they did the tune and the tune makes it feel/behave as if it were a different truck.

I'm interested in the upcoming bolt ons too. Not everyone will want to or be able to drop 6k for the turbo kit, and so they'll be eyeing the lesser modifications
