I fish in between hunting seasons. I also combine hunting and fishing if it's convenient. I would give up fishing before hunting.

When I was younger fishing just barely edged out hunting (mostly cuz I could do it way more than I could hunt I think) but hunting has a large lead now that I'm married and have a kid. I can fill the freezer in a couple good hunts and eat all year where it would take several really good trips fishing and my wife would definitely get tired of fish, where deer meat is super versital so its hard to get tired of it unless u just dont want red meat for some reason.
Also for those that don't know (we caught a few good crappie mother's day weekend. I'm trying some up tomorrow for part 2)

I wouldnt want to give up one or the other...since we cant hunt all year it takes up the months we cant hunt. My wife likes killing stuff but I end up processing most of the game we get ;) Sometimes the big game gets to be too much to handle and we take it in. but other than that, the deer we (I) process myself.

Honestly I’d give up hunting before fishing. I’m a bird hunting fiend (ducks, turkey and dove - we don’t have pheasant) but I wouldn’t think my life was missing anything if I never kill a wall hanger whitetail. I’ve traveled from Alaska to Georgia to fish, and as far away as Argentina to hunt birds, but I’ve only gone as far as the next state over for deer.

Screw fishing, hunt year round, that’s my opinion anyway.

This. I like fishing, but I can easily go without it. Much rather have a gun in my hands.

I can’t sit still and wait for something to bite, if I’m casting and catching every couple of minutes that’s great, a couple times a year.

I’d much rather wonder around the mountain with or without a gun, doesn’t matter.

I fish sometimes when I kayak. Or if I have a cooler of ice cold beer. Then I can fish. But if I'm not hunting I want to be on an ATV

Kansas. Illinois has some awesome whitetails too though, as does Iowa. I think part of my lack of buck fever is because everyone has whitetails on their wall around here. Same reason I drive a Tacoma in a sea of F150s and have a poodle for a duck dog when every hunting buddy I know has a lab.

Went and check my trail camera again and it was dead haha. Had it up there 2 months and haven’t got a picture of anything because stuff keeps happening. I know they’re there though, found there tracks.

My wallows also dried up, hopefully it’ll rain some day....

Usually how the mature boars are. That’s why most the bait hunters around here kill sows....

Yea usually the more mature boars have a wider head and the ears are more on the side of their heads than on top.

But you could be right, it’s only one picture. Bears are hard to judge, even when theyre up in a tree sometimes.
