Honestly for the money not a bad idea.

I know my lift is overkill but I have always been overkill about suspension lol.
Had you seen my Jetta and GTI before you'd get what I mean.

I think the suspension on the GTI was worth more than the GTI.
The Jetta was $7000 just in suspension.

 

nothing wrong with overkill... I was just on a budget and figured the savings could be applied to other things like armour, and tires......or you know a new bed....

 

I'm in the quest for perfection in suspension.

And I don't know if my wallet can do it
Cause from everything I'd need to do to get the suspension to perfection to my taste I need a lot done in the rear.
LCA in the front would finish the front for my taste, without going full blown LT.

But rear needs lots. In time I guess. Got the bumps, so all thats really left is relocate shock etc but holy shit do those ever get expensive.

 

you can do it on the cheap without the expensive shock relocation. Just grab some generic shock loops, or the Ford f350 shock mounts and your good to go. Couple tabs on the axle, limit straps.....you have to weld it on though...

 

You are missing softer ride on trails, even with my Fox 2.0 Level 1 I do feel a difference vs 5100s I had all over before.
I'll be upgrading rear shocks with reservoirs down the road and a new leaf pack.

 

the shock relocation isn't the expensive part.
Its the new shocks that are lol.

 

should see how mine feel haha.

and once I have the air bumps in it will be even better.
was so happy with how it performed in Minden.

 

I did on a winter run, but it's not as different compared to 5100s plus you have plenty of armour, bet the ride would been way better if you went with aluminum.

other way around I need more weight in the rear.

No matter how good the shocks are the springs are so stiff back there that its rough. Its been getting better though now that they are getting worked in. Should be even smoother with the air bumps since I do hit the normal bumps if going too fast. Partially because they are set too long. I hit bump way before I need to but don't feel like cutting them shorter.
Rather just get the adjustable and better performing air bumps.

try $980 a shock on the low end.

Problem is other than the billies you have not many make a shock long enough for the droop of the dakars and only way to get it from the others is with a relocate and once you do that you're into the race series shocks of both Kings, Icon and Fox. So no matter what its expensive.

 

its like your billies it has the length but not the performance of the dual valving

 

you and your valving...lol oh well.

if your planning on getting all the go fast shock stuff, you better save your self the time and stiffen up everything that needs to be stiffened up. Its a lot easier to do it before stuff breaks.

the irony is the go fast stuff I wnt for city driving lmao.
I want to be able to hit speed bumps and the shit roads in scarborough and not feel it. so far the front does it pretty good. just need to get the rear there.

I honestly hit train tracks with the dakars and the billies and I am happy with it.

 

i'd do it off road but i know i'd break shit
