If you count it out one-two-Three-Four-and (quarter, quarter, quarter, eighth, eighth,I think?) for the down, down, up, up, down direction, you should be able to fake most 4/4 tunes. I remember practicing with stuff that had really simple chord changes, so you don't lose your mind with monotony. House of the Rising Sun, tons of folk stuff.

Where was youtube when I was learning this stuff? This should explain it better.

I know a handful of chords, It would be cool to get to the point where I could go out and play!

I always found the drunker I got, the better I sounded.....to me at-least. I just cant get drunk enough to sound good for others, so I stopped playing.

After you know the main open chords (all down in the first three frets), learn and try to understand the circle of fifths - that alone will be a huge game changer in letting you just noodle along all day without constantly repeating songs.
Best thing to do it pick a song you like and look up the chords for the song. Play along with it on youtube (slow it down to half speed if regular speed is too quick), and figure out the strumming and timing of chord changes. Beyond that, you can look into the theory of the circle of fifths and begin to make your own chord progressions that work. Once you start, the fun never stops.

I played saxophone from 5th grade to 12th grade so I have basic note music theory understood. Definitely need to work on chords though.

Afternoon all. Pretty bummed, should be on my way up to Maine for the moose on the loose event tonight though Sunday. Instead I'm sitting at my desk wishing I was in the woods as the sure has to make a last minute "optional" trip to Europe for work:bananadead:

Anyone interested in hitting the RI spot Saturday late morning? Literally had my truck 90% packed. :frusty: I want to drive over some stuff

I may be interested in getting out on the trails again, as long as the GF doesn't make plans for me. Need to get more experience with the stock truck before lift & tires go on. Maybe I'll even have my CB in by then :notsure:

I'm envious of people like this guy: http://www.rcthomasmusic.com/

We do an end of school year trip to NH every year and he was playing at Schilling's in Littleton one of the nights. He did a huge variety of covers and everyone in the place enjoyed it. One of the guys was a little drunk and kept egging him on to play Mariah Carey because I think it was the craziest request his mind could come up with at the time. He goes "I think I can do that" and does an acoustic version of Dreamlover perfectly.

He was obviously having fun and made a solid amount in tips that night.

Never heard of him. Listened to a little of his covers real quick (I'm at work). I'll try to see if I can catch him around my area. It's crazy how much talent is out there.

Quick opinion question, for those that carry shovels thoughts on folding vs normal small shovel?

I need one for getting my truck on the beach and was curious of peoples' opinions on the 2 options

This sound eerily close to my GF's thought process

Isn't already recovered in pollen? I really need to wash my cars though it's bad:annoyed:

This time of year, that's 100% accurate. I washed my truck and stuck it in the garage on Saturday morning. It's been in there ever since, until I took it to work today. I was just outside for my break and it's absolutely covered in pollen.
