I've been using this one and the torque app. been working great and can change all the gauges to your liking.

Some of these things are hit or miss. I've had some of the blue ones that won't read anything but foreign vehicles.

Well you twisted my arm hard enough I bought one of the Vgate bluetooth scanners and the Torque app today. Your build/maint thread is bad for my wallet.

Should look like this and then add a new Guage on whichever page you want it. While your trucks running and connected you should see values in the add Guage list.

Damit I used the PID 2182 and the equation for that ok I'll change the equation then

Why did you only go to a max value of 220?

Anything over that is bad juju. Also with the oil cooler I installed I don't see those temps.

if your engine coolant temp is normal, engine oil temp should be reasonable too, coolant temp is much better indicator in this application

    even if its irrelevant ?

oil pressure, its mostly an indication of flow, most engines if cooled properly will survive with 5-8psi as that is the only way you can know that there is oil FLOW in the engine, if it were possible or easy to just let the bearings rest in a well of circulating oil, that would be how it would be done.

I have several machines that have low pressure sensors, the engines have been BEAT, the actual oil pressure is under 5psi most of the time, but they are running fine except when the low pressure sensor shuts them down. no knocks, no noises. they have oil flow, they are regularly maintained. customer said if they're running, let em run. It's been over 2 years now.... I can't make 'em spend money (yes, I have replaced the sensors and done wet gauge pressure checks, 2500rpm and they'll push maybe 8psi, the sensors are also adjustable and they are as low as they can go, pretty sure there is a scored bearing somewhere but.... )

Not necessarily irrelevant I am going to do an oil press. gauge as well. I have seen oil temps higher than they should be and coolant and trans temps ok. Like my trans temps on the truck start creeping up over 200 when sitting in traffic A/C on the cooler getting heat soaked from the condenser where my coolant temp is at 195. The oil doesn't have a cooler so it's probably getting just as hot or hotter than the trans temps. I like having as much info as I can for engine health.

275,000 miles, used as a fleet truck, pulling trailers, loaded heavy at times, i think it'll be ok

i did double the trans cooler capacity when i got it as i pull a camper
