Hey guys for anyone that has tried to swap to a turn signal mirror option, we know it can be very pricey. I found this on eBay and it is essentially a turn signal assembly with paint match covers with 1G3 as an option (Magnetic Gray Metallic). This is way cheaper than OEM. The question is has anyone ever attempted a swap or tried this particular item? Can this plug directly into factory housing for turn signal or does the 2015 Tacoma even have wiring for turn signal is the truck did not come with turn signal assembly to begin with?

Lol well this is the 2nd gen section

OP, I think you should pull your doors off and see if you have the harness pre run. I think some trucks are, and some aren't prewired.

Would not buy this item, it goes over the original cover by the looks of things. Probably will fall off and you would have to try wiring it into the the original harness also.
The mirrors on the Tacoma have a cover on the outside, if you move the glass to one side you will see the tabs. The covers unclip with a little prying under you will find where the lights go. The lights were used on Rav4's till around 2012 also Sienna's and a few other models. Junk yards are full of them other then that flea bay has them from China for around $20 US, mine came in Toyota packaging and correct part numbers. You will need the wires that go back to the doors plugin. They are usually pink and white, all 2015's that I have done have the wires installed on the lower plug, you just have to take the upper plug apart and push in the connectors into the empty holes taking note of their color location to the lower plug. Color covers are available at the dealer, when checking on them I found they are a lot cheaper in the US then Canada like about a quarter what I paid for mine up here.

FYI, the one on eBay does use two-sided tape but you remove the factory cover first. Not sure how it tapes and that part worries me slightly as I prefer things to be attached better whenever possible.

As for your other info... you're saying that if I buy a used/junk yard turn signal from a pre-2012 Rav4 I can then get the painted mirror covers (Pyrite Mica in my case) from Toyota for my 2010 Tacoma and put all of that together and it all fits & works assuming I do the wiring properly?

#6 From the pics on eBay there appears to be no tabs that attach to the regular mirror, so I suspect they stick on. A 2010 Tacoma does not have the wiring up to the mirror, you would have to do a major wiring job to make it work. There is another post someplace on here that somebody did the wiring but I don't think he posted how he did it. If you search you might be able to contact him to see how he did it.

I tapped into the wiring harness under the steering column since my 13s harness in the door just ended somewhere

I'm not too worried about the wiring as I've seen threads on the subject. I'm more concerned with finding the best deal on the hard parts.
