My buddy's 2016 gas light came on and took about the same amount of fuel. I would think it was just a glitch in the system....I don't it has happened since then.

I don't know exactly what I get per tank but my trip meter usually reads about 300-325 with a quarter of a tank left and mpg is between 21 and 22 mostly back roads.

I can get about 380 but I haven't pushed it all the way to empty. I'm usually right about 19.5 miles per gallon and my dash is spot on with it's per tank average compared to actual.

The fuel pump inside the gas tank relies of the gasoline to keep it lubricated and cool, and if you frequently run out of gas you could cause the pump to fail.
The good news is that the “low fuel” light comes on when there’s anywhere from 1 to 2 gallons left, which is plenty to keep the pump safe.

I would say that my light comes on when there's at least 3 to 3.5 gallons left in the tank. Out of necessity I had to run below 0 miles until empty one time so I know there was more than 2 gallons when that light came on.

Been there done that too Marty!

If you are light on the foot at 61 mph +/- along relatively flat ground you should be able to hit 25 MPG no problem on a 4dr 4x4. This morning I was just shy of 28. If I take it easy and cruise that speed I hit 26 - 28+ pretty frequently. Been over 30 as well. Posted under the MPG thread. Some people question the computer, but it was pretty darn close when I ran a tank and put gas back in at the same station. I think I had my miles per tank on that thread to. If I recall correctly I averaged 27+ ? Could be wrong, slept a few times since then, but sounds right.

Down to Santa Barbara and back ~365 miles each way put 13.6 and 13.9 gallons there and at home to top off(26.5 mpg avg). Guage read 2-3 tics above 1/4 tank before filling. There was a tailwind down/headwind back in the Salinas valley along with a couple passes that are significantly steeper and/or longer on the southern slope. Cruising speed of 70-75. I took the antennae off at the car wash before the trip and didn't put it back on(I think it helps :plane:).

35’s, heavy armor and 99% city driving will do that :/
Also, I have to use 91octane because of the ECU tune. Luckily I live close to work, and use other modes of transportation.

Thought I'd try to see how I could do on MPG this morning on my commute (relatively flat). Basically very similar MPG to and from crossing two rivers. This is the best I have done commuting since I've had the truck (OD at 33K). I tried to keep it at 60 MPH, I dipped below a number of times and hit about 73 at one point. Towards empty on the tank, about 50 miles left on it per the comp. I'll do the same going back today, but suspect traffic won't let me...

I'll say I was coasting a bit and light on the foot, had people riding me in the slow lane when I was under 55! LOL No way to check it other than the comp, but I assume the comp is accurate. It has been on the couple of full tanks I ran and checked in the past. On my typical driving around town and highway I average 24 +/- except when I pull the boat and it sucks the gas down, even with the light boat I'll get in the mid teens when cruising at 70+ on cruise. Not much more than a light trailer.

I've been getting between 19 and 25 mpg (400 - 520 miles per fill up) by the calculator I average about 21.2. I get better gas mileage around town, it goes down on the highway (usually maintain 69 MPH). I have an off road model so no air dam and I also have the OEM roof rack bolted on. Have not yet experienced what my gas mileage will be with cross bars out or with my thule roof top carrier on. I am also adding a Diamondback HD cover as soon as they ship it out to me I will be able to report on its effect.

“385 range to empty” after I filled up, “200 range to empty” after 270 miles. I’ll take it

Looking good! kbUSMC, similar to what I have seen when I'm commuting. If I put my foot in it a bit more in traffic it will be less, if I baby it and try to keep the mpg chart up at peak mpg I've hit over 30 a few times. My drive is relatively flat... While I liked my old 4.0 V6 in the previous generation for the torque and was bullet proof (300k + and didn't miss a beat)... I have to say this engine and set up is a better rig, IF... You are not pulling a larger boat, etc. on a regular basis (longer distances) and if it holds up 3/4 as well as the old 4.0.

    Will be interesting to see...

Damn I’m lucky to get 300. And all I did was upgrade the tires one size up and Change the wheels.
