You are def right, YXZ's sound the best by far! I've been trying to talk a friend who is hardcore yammi guy to buy a yxz to go out with us. I really am hoping that Yamaha comes out with a new turbo YXZ with a better rear end.

I don't want this to come off harsh cuz this is all in good fun: Sand cars are the worst representation of how a vehicle's suspension should perform. From that vid your car looks like it hits that buck buck city (as do most vehicles through those big whoops, especially sxs's). I still am going to wait for a vid of a good working YXZ :brianr:

Sounds like we need to race in person? TW sxs Glamis trip?

anyone know where to find the fox part number on a coilover? the kit i got has a weird shock (~25.5" extended length, ~20" collapsed), top hat to bottom of the shock body is ~15in.

the extended length happens to work perfectly before axle bind. cant check collapsed

Agreed, most rails are not set up appropriately. And a sxs with a wheelbase of 4feet wont do amazing. This was also before I messed with all my adjustments. But it still is smooth and fun and nice not throwing down 30k or more on a toy lol. We took the class 1 out there once with paddles....that was fun haha. Our prerunners do well out there but I just could never justify having a purpose built 2 wheel drive only car. That's why I dig the sxs so much. Cheap easy fun and can go anywhere.

And yes, TW meet in glamis would be sweet. Dunno who else has toys though. Not too many LT trucks could hang out there in the big stuff

5.5 that was my bad. i edited it. i have no idea where they could have come from being set up like that. maybe theres an internal spacer?

how long are normal 8inch LT shocks from the tophat to bottom of the can?

Normal 8" shocks are around 16" compressed, almost sounds like a ~10-12" shock body but uses either a smaller shaft or huge spacer to limit travel

idk if this helps anything. it has too long of a shock body and too short of lower eyelet to be useful.

i really need to finish drilling out the lower bolt so i can cycle the kit. pretty sure i need a true 8in shock

Wrong thread to be bashing LT trucks. And I don't know many sxs that could hang with some of these trucks in the big stuff

Calm your tots lol i wasnt bashing LT trucks, he was specifically talking about a glamis meet not what your capable of. I'm well aware of what a LT truck can do and where it can do it.

I don't think it was bashing, LT trucks and side by sides are two totally different animals. In certain terrains the side by side can't hang, in other terrains the LT truck won't hang either. In Glamis specifically there are whoops that my truck laughs at, and there are whoops that laugh at my truck. I can tell you 100% there is no chance in hell I would take my truck through big dunes, side by sides do it all day long

The internet strikes again. I was being sarcastic.

But yes, they both have their strengths. I haven't been to the dunes in forever and would love to see how the truck does now that it's built up a little bit

Its fun for sure. I debated getting a side by side but just didnt really fit what I wanted so I linked my truck instead :D I also refuse to deal with burned up belts, but that is whole different razr debate :p

Too hot now, but maybe in the fall. So many trips I say I want to do, I know I'll only be able to afford to make a few of them.

I'm curious to see how the truck compares to the sxs for what I use mine for off road. I'll find out soon enough since my buddy is going to get one sooner than later since he sold his fj and is looking in that direction for an off road toy.

The side by side would replace my yota sadly because it would be more practical. I could use it on trails here and it would be easier to haul out west for trips. I can hardly drive my truck now because I'm always using my 1 ton truck for work and we use my wife's 4runner as a family vehicle. The only way I can play now is if I bring at least one of my kids and my son is obsessed with trail riding so it would be a good fit. I really wanted the yxz but the wife said the only way I can get one is if I buy a 4 seater. It looks like both of them have axle issues and I guess polaris changed a bunch of shit on the new ones to help with cooling. This is a tough decision both are around $26,000 for the 4 seater and I could get a 2 seater version of these for about $3,000 less.
