Just in time. August and September are the best time of year in the PNW I think.

Not Yet still looking around... The Office is in Bellevue but we are looking for somewhere with higher walk scores so we can keep one car and keep expenses down.

You'll probably definitely want to stay on the eastside then, I couldn't imagine having to commute across and back from the westside every day

Yea the commute will definitely be similar to my commute in NY 35 miles can take 1.5 hours at times. The nice thing is that my new boss is very conscious of the traffic situation and is 100% in agreement that sitting in traffic is a waste of time. So i should be able to pick times to travel under less than normal jam times

3.5 miles can take 1.5 hours some nights. The bridges man, they get ya. Bothell, Redmond, Issaquah, Woodinville. Get a cheap commuter car or motorcycle

If you don't mind "bending" a few laws, motorcycle is the only way I've found to be a quick trip across I90

Not sure what you mean by bending a few laws (said by the guy from San Diego, CA where 80mph is the norm and splitting traffic is encouraged)

I only split traffic up until 40mph, after that, too much wind and exponential increase in "donor"

Honestly if you want to keep the expenses down, you don't live in bellevue/redmond/kirkland/newcastle and you live further out and deal with the commute. For 8-900k in Bellevue you'll get a house from 1976 with maybe a few updates or nothing at all like this.

    https://www.redfin.com/WA/Bellevue/1503-151st-Ave-NE-98007/home/500082

Prices have stabilized a bit, but still expensive.

He's talking about commuting during "off" hours to avoid that o_O

You can scoot across i90 pretty easily if you do a bit of that

I commute from the westside a lot and its not that bad from Ellensburg to Bellevue or DT Seattle, basically the same amount of time it takes people to go couple of miles that live local.

My dad worked at Microsoft since the early 90s and he would commute early in the morning to avoid the trafffic. I think he started going in at like 730 and by the time he left about 5 years ago he was going in at like 530.

By eastside I meant Bellevue not the east side of the mountains
