Agreed, that bolt will punch a hole through the thin sheet metal before bending

    Seriously? That happened because:

    a) you're not bumped or clearanced properly

    b) you're going too hard in a mid travel truck

    c) parts are not installed and prepped properly

You still have stock lower arms. Didn't you rip one open not too long ago? Who's fault was that?

I won't even start with your rear end issues...

Those of you who purchased your trailing arms vs making your own.
    Who did you buy from?
    Camburg? Ruff stuff? Ect?

I’m trying to take some of your suggestions into mind about just going to a traditional 4 link instead of the short course

I thought you had a Fab guy all ready working on your truck?
I want to see some actual pics of your truck. I have read a ton of your post but have never seen any real time pics.
Not saying your not for-real, but...... dude!!!! are you for real? A new truck that has barely been driven and cant make up your mind on set up.keeps changing daily. Get some real advice and get a fab shop that knows what F there doing and stick to a fucking plan.

I am trying to take into consideration what other members have said in reference to my plans to do a short course link set up

And the comments about 3k$ links being unnecessary

So while trying to listen to the advice being offered I am trying to do a bit of research on what links are available as options.

My Instagram is in my signature if you really care to see my truck.

The truck is inoperable hence the rear end I purchased

I felt it was a waste to put a leaf spring set up on a expensive ass housing and felt that the total chaos SUA kit I had on the truck was not worth keeping.

If you’re going to show your distaste for me or my project please just keep your opinion to yourself

If you have links on your truck and would like to share what brand you used that would be lovely.

I was given some info along the lines of any links I need for my truck would have to have the pocket somewhere around 75% back on the arm and I thought that sounded funny so I wanted to look at some non 3k$ options.

A few guys made it clear that if I did a short course setup that I would be unable to transition that into a traditional setup without redoing everything so... I’m trying to heed their advice

Shortbed or longbed? Longbed will probably have more off the shelf items. Short bed will be tough. I got wiy kit from Trac, but that’s no longer. I know dirt designs has had a link kit in the works. You could probably get just lowers from him.

Yeah that’s what I was hearing was that normal 48” arms aren’t compatible easily

They usually have the c/o’s bypasses mounted too far forward to fit in the small space dcsb’s have. You also may want to try lsk they may be able to cut you something

I’m pretty sure he got a good job offer and decided to close up. It’s a bummer cause I would of loved to have bought another set of links from him.

respect for doing your due diligence and researching everything to death, but I just went briefly went through your IG and didnt see a single pic of your truck in use. Lots of posed pictures with zero dirt on the truck tho... :notsure:

So I'm just curious, do you have the worlds absolute worst case of suspension ADD or do you just like wasting money? As the other guy said this is like the 3rd time you have overhauled the suspension and you have never really taken the truck out... seems to me like you're getting a little carried away replacing things just to keep up with the jones's. At some point man just go out and use it and save your money for more significant work like a cage or a real motor. My 2 cents.

I hate this place. If there is one good thing that came from selling my prerunner, it's that this place will be of no use once I sell off the rest of my shit.

None of the off-road stuff is on my Instagram because all those photos/videos involve veterans
And per my agreement with all the vets we work with we keep them off social media as to protect their privacy and employment

And as for my changing suspension 3 times
That’s really kind of off in my opinion

The rear went from stock to SUA bed cage and that’s how it sits right now

The front went to “A kit”
I had problems with it and 10 days later got rid of it completely at no loss for a total chaos kit of the exact same width that I actually liked.

So in my opinion I went from stock
    To a +2 kit
Then I drove it til my rear diff turned into a grenade
Saved a shit ton of money from December til now while having no vehicle at all and sitting in my house doing my work on the phone and on skype/emails/ect so that I could afford to rework the suspension all the way around to completely toss as much Toyota stuff as possible and put myself in a situation to not need a rework again aside from a cage and motor

in all seriousness, thanks for your service and what you do for these vets but thats a pretty lame excuse as to why there isn't a single picture of your truck being used on your IG. Just saying man...

Since we are on the topic of links, what's up with Casey curries setup here? What would normally be the normal lower canoe style links are mounted as the uppers with the shocks mounted to them? Was watching a few videos on it and it just seemed weird

I have no need to impress anyone

That’s my person Instagram so I put up what I want to show off

I have a strict rule of keeping all “rescue” related material off social media because using past businesses as a template
When employers or families find out that vet has problems it tends to only compound issues for them like trying to fire the guy they have now labeled unstable or taking his kids away cause they aren’t safe around him.

And to be honest since the truck broke in December I haven’t had much opportunity to take the truck out to have fun on my own since all the off-road parks in Kentucky close in the winter

20180613_153531.jpg ...giving my T4R a lil rear love with some bypasses and bumps. Polishing the rear suspension turd the best I can with the stock mounting points.

*IF* I can move the stock gas tank 4" forward maybe some extended links will get dropped in. In it's current stock form the upper driverside link is pretty damn close to the tank.

I just feel like it's going backwards to ditch it for leafs to gain more travel.

Worst case scenario I'll just add a RTT, ladder and 100 overlanding patches.

That was my though since it's an ultra 4 car. Just never seen it set up like that before. Caught my attention for future upgrades to my truck. Ground clearance is key since I still rock crawl it pretty hard
