I can see why that’s crazy. At least he’s making money with his dogs though

Not really though, hunts for fun most the time. Add in fuel and what it costs to go out and camp for every weekend in April and most of May, gps’s and collars, vehicles, boots, all the good stuff haha. Loads of money goes into it and not a lot comes out.

    It’s a losing battle.

I live in El cerrito so im contra costa county.so what happened was my dog killed a skunk, so i call animal control to remove the body. Sounds normal right. Well the guy goes oh we dont have you in the system. You need to have a license to own a dog here in California. And doesn’t even tell me how to get it over the phone he just says ask the officer when he gets there how to get one. (Dude was a complete dick) so i ask the officer and he tells me where to go. I go through the whole registration then find out its 110$ for a intact male husky. I guess te rates change depending on the dog. But that license is only good for 3 years. Then i have to pay agian.

Yeah true. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend your money though. I don’t hunt with dogs but hunting is a huge part of my life and always has been. The meat I put in my freezer is far more expensive then what I would pay in a store for it but the memories and time in the woods is well worth the extra costs.

Oh no doubt, my parents say it’s better for me to spend my cash on hunting than to spend it on drugs

I only have one, and it takes all my time and money.

I kinda got myself hooked into it, only one in my family that does it.

That’s pretty sweet to get into it by yourself. I grew up around it. I’ve got horns from my grandpa hanging in the garage.

Yeah when he killed the rat and raccoon i just tossed that shit away. The raccoon was a 1500$ vet bill because my dog was bite in the neck and got infected.
But i get a good amount of wildlife in my back yard. First time a skunk though. Usally its possums, raccoons, squirrels, birds, rats.

I asked my body who also has a dog he said he knows about the license

All my grandpas stuff got sold at a garage sale, I got an older recurve from him but that’s about it. Not a huge deal but ya know.

Ahh that’s a bummer. That kind of stuff is impossible to replace. I’ve got a shrade old timer knife that my grandpa got me when I was born with my name engraved in it. I’ve used it to gut every deer I’ve ever killed. Probably my most cherished possession.
