Sorry for what, say what you want, doesn't bother me. Had no idea Icons quality sucks now if that's the case, haven't been here on TW in like 6 yrs. I didn't even want to buy new coilovers but I had no choice, don't want to put money into my Tacoma anymore. I'm long over due for a new vehicle.

Oh boo hoo, I asked for some (any) evidence to your opinion to decide if it was worth responding to. If thats too tough I suppose I have my answer.

No worries, we all have our days. Had I known that I needed UCAs to install the extended coilovers, I would have just bought the standards again cause I don't want to spend money on the truck anymore. I bought new ball joints a while back too which is now useless to me. I've got my coilovers cranked up to match the rear, I can already tell the extended COs ride much better going over big bumps. Shit was violent going over speed bumps with my standard DRs at the ride height I'm at.

Fixing up yes, but not to sell, otherwise I wouldn't have bought new coilovers if I was selling. I have no plans in seller her.

Only the top one in your query had a dude with problems, the rest were just about servicing them yourself or buying new ones. Mine were 6 when I got them, ran for another year, up to 7, just rebuilt three months ago. They still had nitro even. FWIW they have a new harder shaft now to keep knicks from forming and wrecking seals but that's a year old part now. Usually I just see the occasional top hat failure but 1st gens don't have that issue. Icon (rather Donahoe at the time) has the most travel of any of the front bolt ins though, it wasn't an off the shelf part given a vehicle specific top hat and valving like king and saw. But I had my rear icons rebuilt the same time as I got my new rear kings. So keeping in mind my truck is 90% dirt miles now I'll let you know what fails first.

No hard feelings by the way :)

Now it's a choice between XLT or just LT. 17"-18" of travel or 14" of travel I doubt I'd use it all but still.

I did that once, never again, CustomTacos days before TW & I've been here from the start, heck, I'm member #31.

But it wasn't my fault! Blame all the beer cans in the bed.

Hey she agreed to it and if I'd want to I'd sas'd this truck. But I like the trophy truck stance so LT it is. My poor all pro expos gotta go a bit longer before I retire them with new leafs. But there only 2 years old lol.

only one thing to say about this. "My poor f'n back!!" Lol

I just spent all day trying to change the power steering pump on a '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee and god damn is that pulley a pain in the absolute ass to remove and re-install with the SST. After re-attaching everything and bleeding the system, I started it for the first time and the belt immediately came off the pulley. I didn't drive the pulley far enough onto the pump, and as a result the belt slips off. I'm going to have remove the whole pump again tomorrow and try again.

And the stupid belt tensioner design the 4.0l I6 is terrible. They built it into the power steering pump with a long bolt and a nut. They got it right with the V8's though - the tensioner was its own pulley BUT changing the power steering pumps on the V8's require you to remove the coolant hoses for the radiator.

As for the Tacoma - Besides adding more gas (It's about to roll over to $4.00/Gallon for Regular 87 Octane here, 15 MPG = no bueno) I really haven't done anything to it lately. Been spending too much time fixing other peoples cars.

Next big thing for the truck is installing that all around lift kit. I'm having the Icon front coilovers rebuilt first due to the age and mileage though.

Did some trimming but with only running 881 coils ill have to do much more trimming before anything offroad. Daily driving is just fine though with zero rubbing.
