Normally the saying goes “sack up or pack up”...in this case it’s a little of both.

Dropping my truck off Friday for the front install. I was originally going to install the arms and shocks myself and then take it for the gusset, reservoir mount and limit strap welding. However, everything has to come off to do the welding, so I'm just having the install done at the same time.

Ah nice man I bet you must be pumped considering how long you have been waiting for it. Where did you end up going to have it installed at? I’m getting my rear boxed at the same time since he will be in there anyway, but doing the rear on these trucks is a lot of welding. Sooner or later I will need to revisit the front to finish up my gussets. That will hopefully get tackled later on this summer.

Dan (DOUBLLD) is doing the install. The front will be a decent amount of welding with the coil bucket gussets, LCA cam tab gussets, adjustable limit strap hangers, and shock reservoir mounts.

Nice man I need to weld on some of that stuff next and then mount my front hoops so I can throw on these bypasses as well. Will be cool to hear how your front end is with it all in!

Well I finally got the ride back...damn if this wasn’t the best upgrade by a long shot out of my build. That rear really ties in the front. It has a firm yet supple fee to it all around and the sound of the bypasses are quite soothing to me.

    It’s official...full ass now! ;)

While I was at the shop they decided to see what this suspension could achieve since they never dealt with long travel before.

Ha thanks man. Yea it now needs the front stuff to get installed, but coming along rather well. Atleast the giant elephant is gone.

That's the plan chief! Im still working on seeing if I can get a transfer to the salt lake office. I would gladly forego advancement just to roll out that way. Man that truck is nasty as hell.

Due to my professional experience, sadly I don't think I got what it takes to conquer the later still. On a serious note...so turns out my spring perches were installed backwards which geometrically is fine as the perch is symmetrical in design. The issue lies in that one side has a fill plate while the other is open, because of this the filled side is towards the front preventing room for the shock tabs to be welded on top of the spring perch. The shop went to mount a little outboard so the shocks currently stick out further than they are supposed to. From Tim, this is a simple remedy as Im not the first to make this mistake, but trim down the shock tabs and then burn them onto the fill plates and move on.

The irritating thing I cant stress enough is I told these guys multiple times they should call Tim to get any fabricator tidbits before attempting. They told me they talked to DMZ which turns out they had their receptionist call only to verify the application of the boxing kit which has no relation to the kit install. They are a solid shop and stand behind their work, but I will hear today about what they want to do going forward as the kit works as intended, but the bumps are three inches lower because the shocks are wide enough now that the tire would hit if the axle went any higher.

In the interim, I have the first or second version of Tim's latest SUA kit that has longer shackles than his previous kit to help cycle 17" for the short beds like the long beds always had the ability to. Before he modified his kit, the short beds were barely pulling 15" so Im still in the green, but should be fixing this remedy soon.

Not sure @buyobuyo if you need to know any info, but after this experience I am def much more informed on the install after the fact and thankfully the LT community gives zero fucks for nonsense and called out my crap instantly which in essence has helped me capture the problem at the moment. Might not be a bad idea to get as much direction from burg before you pass off your stuff to get installed if you plan to have someone do it just so you can know the basic stuff that should be obvious, but might get installed wrong.
