I love my Siri eyes free on my Tacoma but it seldom works on the first command and I have to cancel it then repeat the command for it to work. Once it glitches after the first startup then it seems to be fine. Anyone know what the problem could be and what the fix is? Thanks!

Are you talking about the voice recognition that's built into your truck, or Siri on your phone? Because Toyota doesn't use Siri.

You can train your truck to recognize your voice better.

If you have an iPhone, you can hold down the phone button on your steering wheel and communicate with Siri. Its so good that I have seldom used the Toyota voice button. Expect for the fact that the Siri Eyes Free (thats what the feature is called) doesn't work the first time you start your rig and says "pardon?".

I didn't know that was a thing, I have an android. Sounds like a software bug on one end or the other, hopefully it gets fixed on the next update.

I had this issue, but I downloaded an update to a flash drive after downloading it from here:
    https://securedp.toyota.com/download-app/getUpdates

Then you follow the instructions to update it.

This fixed the Siri Eyes Free issue, as well as a rebooting issue when sometimes answering or making calls through the bluetooth.

From the release notes, it seems like this was one of the "Intermittent rebooting" issue.

Thanks DJ. I don't use entunes but I will try the update. I also read that if you disable "hey Siri" this fixes the problem. Between the two I hope to have this nailed down.

Entune is just the name for the whole software package running on the head unit.

I don't use the Entune Voice Control Either (I do what you do and push and hold the phone call button until the little microphone appears and turns green).

The update made using bluetooth commands and phone calls much more reliable for me.

No need to disable 'hey siri' with the update!
