While it's a nice pic, that's not a third gen...anything. As F-150s go, that's like a 7th or 8th gen.

yea I guess so. Looked more like bottle opener but I can see the T now that you guys point it out. Didn’t know if there was a story behind it

 

I think it came out when the tundra got big. 2007 maybe? I think it was their marketing campaign to go up against the big 3. I haven't seen much marketing around the Tacoma with it, but maybe it's popping up more.

 

Finally got bed rack. Now waiting for Prinsu and headlights.

Installed noico sound deadender in the doors

 

I'm getting ready to install some as well when I change the door speakers. I'm wondering if you read the noico directions, and if it said that you needed a roller to roll the mat once you apply it, as a necessary step for the mat to work right. The stuff I bought said that, so I bought a roller to do so, but I haven't seen anyone on here talking about rolling it. Also, it says that the embossing on the backing will be flat after you've rolled it properly, and that's how you'll know it was done right, and I haven't seen any of the other members photos where the embossing was flattened so I'm assuming people are skipping this step

 

Does this make a big difference? Or a speaker upgrade would be worth doing it with this?

 

This is the first one I've seen using the deadening mat. on the actual inside of the door. Are you putting it on the "outside" of the door, but inside of the panels as well? My speakers get delivered today and sound deadening mats come on Friday, can't wait.

 

I have to admit first of all that I'm totally ignorant on this subject but since water weeps and drains through the doors wouldn't this material be a bad idea to put directory against the door skin? I can see the value in doing the back of the cab, the floor and the interior door panels but putting directly against the door skins would seem to be problematic and encourage premature rust and rot. Am I missing something here on where it should or shouldn't be placed?
Don't know if I don't ask. Would appreciate it if someone could set me straight on this. Thanks.

 

Get a roller if you choose. I didnt have one so used a socket and rolled it along. Its sticks fine so im going with it.

 

Its should help with internal accoustics as well as reducing road noise. I didnt get 100 percent coverage but better than nothing

 

Yes. Thats the first place to put it. If i had more, i would do around the speaker opening as well. Maybe at a later point but with the material i have i can hit the inner on all four doors

 

That was my concern as well. I researched the best I could. Didn't seem like there was a ton of data that suggested problems. But I decided not to do it. From everything I could tell, to get the noticable drop in decibels, you have to do the headliner, floor, back wall and firewall. I just used some fast rings that helped with the sound instead.
