Why haven’t you done sand yet? Rust? .. she’s definitely gonna have to suck it up, it’s not staying stock height forever haha

I’m opposite, haven’t been to any dirt/mud/rock areas yet except for designated road in kaena point, only sand.. babying my truck til I can afford to lift for clearance. i haven’t had to air down, haven’t even tried crawl control or other terrain settings yet.

I just like the look of the wide tires, I was thinking a m/t? Something that sticks out a couple inches and roars on freeway? I’ll take the less mileage and life expectancy of tire as long as it don’t get me stuck.. small rims tho, and not stretched, for when I do air down.. any idea ? because I don’t know much about tires and rims..

I originally wanted the 3” lift but I know as soon as I get it, I’m gonna want to make it even higher; so jus gonna skip the 3” and settle wit 6”... now if I can jus find a bag full of hundreds somewhere

Just haven't had the time to hit the sand or know where to go I only had my truck on island for 4 or 5 months.
Fuck it get a set of BFG KM3's they just came out and after seeing some of the reviews they look awesome! I'm going for either those or nitto ridge grapplers.
Before you make that plunge into the darkness of getting a 6" lift I recommend coming to a meet and greet. See how ours all look and if we do a run see how ours ride. I wanted a 6" when I first bought my truck but after a long time and research I went with a route that i went with a 3" lift and couldn't be happier.

    Some stuffz
All types of Tacomas and 4Runners in here lol. But I think not too many Hawaii style bulldog stance truck owners active in this thread.

For suspensions, I’d say more drooling over flex instead of lift.

There you go! Thanks! 1 day I’ll figure out how to post a picture but something like that. Those BFG KM3s do look nice! I’m aware of the recon problem but there are ways to make it possible..

Yea I got a lot of research to do but it’s not like I’m in too much of a rush.. would be nice to meet up and talk story instead of typing a damn novel haha u guys do truck cruises (off-road)?

Maybe you’re looking for something like my set up. Best of both worlds. Got the 6” lift and still Offroad worthy. Went with the 6” BDS lift with fox coilovers w/dsc, and 35x12.5 Firestone Destination mt2’s. If you can shop at the NEX, tires were $1143 for all 4 from there.

I don’t have crawl control but I have a-trac because of the manual trans. But I buried the front and rear of my truck at Yokohama when I was 100% stock and I still got it out using just a-trac. It’s pretty awesome. My friend tried the same thing with his pathfinder and I had to pull him out. Lol

    Manual transmission

6” is high, but it looks good.

I also shopped tire prices at the NEX, and they’re not really cheaper. Discount Tire can offer some pretty good deals, or the duratracs if that deal is still arond. If you have a friend with a Costco membership, BFGs are always at a good price there, too.

Nice truck! That’s what I want! Except didn’t think about 35s, did u need to modify anything or was the 6” enough to prevent rubbing? Where did u do ur lift or did u do it urself?

I was thinking even a small basic rim like below is good enough, I got a price from 4 wheel parts for 6” lift but haven’t looked around for rims yet, since I’m gonna need the lift first 557D88AF-58D4-4C4E-8810-479C9E1DB5F6.jpg

They look sweet. Saw the 285s run 10# heavier than the Duratracs I have now. Look forward to seeing how you like them.
