So Aurora surrounds Buckley AFB, it has good options and not so good options but home prices accordingly. You will be on east side of Denver so getting to mountain gateway (Golden, CO) will be at least 30 mins and up to a hour.

Which is why I'm sad I'm moving east. But I'd rather deal with the commute through town to the mountains than to deal with it while going to and from work. Traffic makes me angry before my day starts and adding a full days work doesn't help haha.

Scratch the Springs off your list, no sane person wants to make that a daily commute.

We lived in Tollgate off of Quincy and Gun Club for 8 years before we moved to God's country. Nothing wrong with the neighborhood, we just wanted to get out of suburbia. Copper Leaf is right on the other side of the highway which seems to also be a decent neighborhood. South Shore is also a new up and coming neighborhood out there. All close to major retail shopping at Southlands and very easy commute to the air base without touching a single highway.

CO Springs is way to far IMO. No way I would make that drive to Buckley.

I personally wouldn't live in Aurora either. The only time I go there is if I have to go to Navy Federal in person which is rare. As the others mentioned there are nice areas, but then there can be not so nice areas right around the corner.

My brother-in-law is currently building a SCIF at Buckley and lives in the Highlands (Just west of Downtown). However, he leaves for work at about 4am and comes home around 2:30. He says traffic isn't that bad at those times and he makes it to work in about 20 mins in the morning.

I almost moved to Englewood when I moved to CO and like the area, but as @Kappes03 mentioned it can be expensive with a large family. We ended up settling on the Berkeley/West Highlands area after spending some time in Broomfield when we first moved.

Have you thought about the North East area off the E-470 corridor around Brighton? I believe that area is cheaper than most as well and could be an easy commute down to Buckley?

That is Denver City limits and yes, 5 years of going up 10%+ every year.

Jeebus.. My farthest commute here was Centennial/Aurora to Bel Mar in Lakewood. Fortunately I worked early enough to miss all the traffic. The truck was only lifted with 285s and I managed 20 MPG since it was all highway. Those days are long gone

Remember those are averages too. Everything I have looked at is well above those averages.

Saw that in a news article the other day, average price of a home sold in Denver is over half-million. Yet median household income was $71k, increasingly bigger housing market-income gap.

I’ve thought about it but it’s like 55 miles and requires 2 skilled people which I may not have unless someone here wants to help?

You have a lot of options as you can see. Def search around, just know if you see something you really like, act on it fast because it'll be gone quick. My realtor who's currently helping me close on a house did most of the leg work for me and I just had to choose. I had access to a site similar to zillow that showed houses on the market, but it notified me of any price changes as well as new houses on the market that hit before zillow or realtor.com gets them.

And yeah even though you're Navy we'll let you in :oldglory:
