Picked up an aluminum tailgate skin from @RelentlessFab that I hope to paint and install in the next few weeks and I think I have pretty much all I need except for a couple relays for my first electrical mods on the truck.

Planning on puddle lights wired off the dome light so they come on when I unlock the truck or open the door, backup camera anytime mod, a 2 row 20" LED behind the grille, and power to the bed so I can run usb quick charge and a 12v plug on a switch along with LED lighting in the shell on a switch. I have no idea what size relay I should be running for all this though so I need to do some more research but I have time since I'm hoping for an early August install timeline while I'm recovering from surgery/chemo.

    282BBA12-B475-4CA9-BA07-D841FFF620FE.jpg

I also want to build an internal cage in the bed to support the roof rack so the shell isn't taking all the weight (RTT plans). Not sure if I'll buy a welder and learn or have someone else help out (I'm a welding noob).

Then I might be done for a bit.

Trying to visualize it all but it seems that supports going to the bed floor (instead of bed rails as I've seen others do) is the best option to keep the weight off the bedsides. Not sure what material I should use either but weight is a factor for me.

As much as I'd like to tackle this myself, I may be better off seeing if this is something @RelentlessFab could put together for me if I do move forward with an RTT.

80/20 bar would be a super easy option for a no weld sorta build. IMG_0663.jpgIMG_0664.jpgVertical supports as close to bed bolts as possible with a good thick mounting plate. Tied to bed rail track only for lateral stability. But yes, I'm sure relentless could whip something up.

Started stacking cash for a supercharger and went and spent it again on something else.....at least it wasn't a furnace this time and it'll add another 30hp to the fleet

Stoked to be picking up the new to me Crestliner in a week or two. All I have is the manufacturer product shot...didn't take any pics when I was looking at it and the ad has already been deleted.

Visually it has way more effect than the supercharger would have, but not quite the same power wise.

Hello: i stumbled upon your thread when searching for Dome LED bulb replacements. Have you by chance ever come across a good LED unit in Red color? that would just plug in to my stock incandescent bulb Dome mount.

And separately a good LED unit in Red color for the (map?) Left/Right center ceiling lights?

    Thanks,

And I HATE Cancer too! Stay strong!

So I'm thinking there is a thermostat for the transmission that opens up around 245/250 because that's as hot as the transmission gets even when I'm foot to the floor and using everything the Tacoma has in the mountains. I don't recall ever seeing 250f on the ultragauge when dragging the trailer around and today coming home from Collins Lake it was mid to upper 80's out when I was driving up HWYs 20 & 80.
