    Work in progress...
I bought my truck with about 15,000 miles on it. I adjusted the bed because it was sideways and the rear bumper is still slightly cantered. I bought my Taco from a Ford dealer so I figured the savings were in the pudding. So a brand new truck and "Toyota" tells you it was over flexed! Over flexed? Why the hell did Ya sell the thing? Over flexed? I would drive the truck to the dealer where you bought it. Sit just off their property in a lawn chair with a shade and cooler. Make sure your are where people looking to buy new vehicles will see you. Display a sign "see the over flexed beauty this dealer sold me!"

I did this to my 99taco. I hit a washout on a dirt road at 40mph. The frame flexed hard enough that the bed dented the cab on both sides.

    OME and worth every penny.
How many miles were on the truck when you picked it up?
In transit damage would almost have to be dropped but if something happened on a test drive......well, anything could have happened. That sounds more like something a dealer would want to hide as it couldn't be charged back to the responsible party.

I know hitting (like over one completely) a curb has caused issues like this on friends trucks over the years.

Ya gotta try it.. .that's flexing from 10mph then hit the brakes when on top.

    Precision wheeling required and performed!

Sorry to hear about your trouble! Honestly I am surprised you haven't gone up to corporate yet! How many miles were on the truck. You say its NEW 2017 and said with under 1k miles, you hate to have body work done. Are you the second owner? Was this truck lent out to other people which it may gotten into a accident? Its 2018, its probably not NEW. My truck was NEW with 2 miles when I ordered it. Which leads to this next question. You've flown into this place to buy a truck and found issues, flew back out and I am guessing you are going to fly in again to pick it up. Sounds like a pain in the ass when you can just order one from a dealer more local and wait a month. I still to this day don't understand people that run around for months looking for a truck when you can just order it. Anyhow good luck man. You will need it. Get corporate involved. Hope you took pictures and documented everything.

Precision wheeling? I'd be laughing while watching you from across the street, comming up on that rock, pushing it 2 feet before your tires actually drove over it.

Miles on it when I bought it.... 14 when they sent me pics and video. Add another 6 between then and when I flew in to get it. Said for fueling and I'm guessing a PDI test drive.

No, I haven't contacted Toyota Corporate yet. Am waiting on documented details from the body shop. Figure it is best to wait until I have facts on just how much damage was done, rather than flying off half cocked.

The body shop thinks it came of the delivery ramp hard.

Had a hard time ordering. The guy would never take my order... just kept "looking for one". The whole Toyota dealership experience, from day one, has been a nightmare. All of them!!

Don't want to be rude but do you have pictures of the damage you are describing. Have you actually looked under the truck to find bends and cracks in the frame? What about the dent in the back of the cab. Is there damage to the corner or the bed closest to the cab?

    @specter208

I don't have photos to post. The dent was very subtle, and likely wouldn't have photographed. The bodyshop said it was more noticeable when they removed the bed. My local dealership acknowledged it's existence also, after comparing and feeling other trucks on the lot. I personally didn't notice any damage to that corner of the bed. I would think there should have been paint damage from the 'kiss' on both pieces, but I didn't see any. Possibly they did a quickie repair, and a poor job of it?

I do have some photos of the driver side, but would have to zoom in very close to see the door alignment issue. The dealership (my local, not the selling) also acknowledged it, and the body shop has repaired that already.

The dealership (again... my local, not the selling) also acknowledged the bed being lower on one side (drivers, just behind the dent), and the body shop measured the frame. Said it was up a bit, on the driver's side rear corner a bit, but they pulled it back into place. Am not sure how all of that works, as I'm a 25+ year electrician, not mechanic.

Said they have it all documented for me.
