Fire Extinguisher.. Who's got one in there Tacoma?

Looking for idea's on where and how to mount a fire extinguisher in my Tacoma, anyone have one? Want a nice clean install.

 

I work in fire protection and all honestly I'm letting it burn. I have zero want to have my truck repaired if it has a small fire.

I do know the Porsche guys have cool looking mounts that bolt to the front seat rails. Just remember don't buy a 2.5# and don't buy a shitty Kidde with a plastic head

 

I bought a 2.5 pounder...that's a Kidde...with the plastic head (maybe)...

But it fits so well in the big cubby! More for putting out a potential small brushfire while driving over overgrown double-track than a car fire. I agree with the "let the truck burn" part.

No, but I'd rather phone a friend than fight all the impending gremlins an electrical fire causes.

 

No, I wouldn't let my truck burn if I have the means to put out a fire. Those ass hats probably throw their old motor oil in the woods too

 

If you're going to mount a fire extinguisher in your truck, make sure to have it serviced regularly. The constant vibration from driving will compact the powder, rendering it useless. The plastic headed extinguishers cannot be serviced.

 

I mean, if its like a small one, yeah def put it out, but when I say electrical fire, in my head I mean like...whole engine bay engulfed.

its really not to stop a fire if my Tacoma torches, its more for emergencies, something to have for camping or someone thinks they are going to smoke in my truck yea i guess for a small Tacoma fire not a fully engulfed engine bay fire.

Seeing that states have sent a fire suppression bill to people who accidentally started fires driving their cars, I would bet that most people dont carry enough property damage coverage on their insurance to cover it, so trying to safely put out a car fire, or at least keeping it contained until the fire department comes is not a bad idea.

I keep a 5-pounder extinguisher in the cab, and a ten pounder along with a shovel in the back under my platform. In sagebrush or forests during dry weather, a pulaski would be good to have also.

 

Usually those people are doing something ignorant like: dragging trailer chains, parking on dry grass, off roading in places where they shouldn't be in the first place, shooting outdoors when it's dry as a popcorn fart, fireworks, campfires when prohibited, ATV's with no spark arresters, hey it's 1PM and the wind is blowing hard and it's 110F lets go mow this dry field.

Its easy to do, and maybe a bit easier with a stock Gen 3 taco. Other than the differential, you know what part is the lowest and likely to get hot enough to set off brush under the right conditions? Thats partly why I did the exhast reroute, as Ive been on lots of legal desert trails with very tall grass and some brush even growing in the center of the tracks.
