@ChadsPride, what's the deal with the front plate? I've been in the same boat for a year, have a bolt holding it on through the bumper logo till I can figure it out

If those magnets will work with aluminum I'll go half on the 4 pack with ya...

I’m glad this discussion is happening as when the bumper wish finally comes about I will request the manufacturer just weld me some up from the get go, especially if I go aluminum.

If you get a winch, then you willhave a fairlead. And then you can attach the many available license plate mounts to the fairlead.

Well shit, back to square one. Still trying to figure out how to mount a plate to a flat skidplate without looking tacky.. (No plans to have a winch and ordered plate without the hole cutout)

I'm not sure how I've not been pulled over for no front plate yet since mine is at an angle on my bumper and not really facing forward.

FWIW - I have never had one on my VW R32 and unfortunately I've been profiled in that car numerous times over the years and not once had a police officer give me grief about the front plate while pulled over.

The weight savings/less preload for maximum clearance was more important to me than something I will probably never use. I'll let you guys get me out of a sticky situation if I can't, and reward you with brewskies

Seems like it is a crapshoot between the situations.

Well all done with winch first time ever installing one used one in the past. Took a little bit longer than I anticipated but did it right An didn’t damage anything which is a bonus. Gonna eat then time for compressor.

If you lived in WilCo, I would say without a doubt, run one. APD / Travis County PD ???? Meh.....those guys are cool. I know a few of them and they don't actively look for people with no plates these days.

    Wouldn't you like to know!
I'm pretty sure TX law states that the license plate must be visible from the front of the vehicle...X amount of distance away. But I see people running no front plates all the time. I just wouldn't want to attract any unwanted attention from the authorities if it's avoidable.

That's the boat I am in right now. I've never been pulled over in the taco (knock on wood) and want to keep it that way!
