Your second sentence should have answered your question.

I was in the same boat and ended up with a OR because the price was the same as Sport and I liked the black accents rather than paint matched.

All 2018 v6 Tacoma’s get the tow package (in the states). I also don’t think the 2018 sport gets a bigger alternator than the rest (in the states).

Whatever you choose, get the MT, especially with the Sport. Overall, the MT has a higher gear ration, 4.30 vs 3.80, and he Sport MT has the larger rear end like the OR.

This! Plus you'd be very hard pressed to find places that the sport cant go where the OR can... if you do, then you probably need the pro

Lol. I wanted a 6MT DCSB and in Canada only the trd sport fits the bill.

Two show up when searching for 2017 V6 MTs:

Given all the body roll discussion when talking about the ORs and how ridiculously flat my Sport was before I removed it, I would think that there are two different sway bars.

This is very interesting. I have a 2016 and can confirm there was definitely only 1 sway bar in the front. Its in my garage now actually on the floor lol

I've rarely heard those two words used together in describing a vehicles' street handling. :D

(different than off road articulation of course)

Completely agree with all of those who say to get what best suits your needs! I’ve been happy with my sport so far

Same here. It was a bit ridiculous on my Sport, bucking side to side on anything that was uneven. I took it off for the first wheeling trip and loved the feel both on and off road. I wonder if the swaybar isn't the source for some of the harness complaints on the Sport?

I hear you. The thing was as flatter than our old cars used to be. Now without it, I get some initial roll that takes a nice set. It still corners way better than a truck should while feeling great.

Balance can be an odd thing some times, and change from enviroment to enviroment.

On my SCCA car I had a jumbo front sway (aftermarket) with adjustable links and such. But on short technical courses (and usually the street) it worked much better if I disconnected the rear OE sway. On longer courses or HPDE days the rear sway being connected was very helpful.

And of course I was always dinking with shock settings and tire pressures too.

Most definitely. In our old convertible, I put a 7/8in rear sway bar on it just to get it to some neutral-ish in handling and to kill boat-like roll. It was fun in the rain on worn tires.

On a local off ramp in the rain without the sway bar on the Taco, I can get a nice four wheel drift going.

    Call me happy.
