It's definitely a tight squeeze to get the compressor and box into the cubby but it fits. My plan is to have the compressor & some electrical in the cubby (relay & fuse for the compressor), then a second box that will hold a busbar to distribute power coming from the battery. I've got the cubby situated but I still have to get the 2nd box and running everything into the cab to get done.

The big issues with the ARB mount that we can see is that when installed the compressor faces inboard into the wheel well with absolutely no protection, rocks, debri, mud, water etc - your 500.00 Compressor is exposed to them all. Also for quick access or simply popping the hatch and quickly filling up: it isn’t designed for this, you have to run air lines and a remote port as the air outlet faces into your fender.

    Just our 2c

Yes we did leave the top open into the fender well. It was a purely functional and intentional decision.

This allows for proper ventilation and heat dissipation into the fender well as well as provides mounting locations for the ARB Locker manifold: we have an optional bracket for this.

You will get dust or some moisture into the mount but it would be a similar situation in the engine bay, we allow for proper drainage and the ability for a clean out through the bottom tray.

All in all the mount has worked out excellent and we are very happy with its long term results: we’ve run version of it in our Taco for two years now.

Since then, the mounts are now aluminum for increased weight savings and are pre drilled for ARB twin, single and our manifold mounts.

We’ve actually put a lot of thought into these and would be happy to answer any questions for you.

I got a PDF of the instructions with pictures from ARB to look over the install. Shows alot more info then on the website.

I do have to agree with you on how the compressor is exposed inside the fender. From the info i could gather I am heading in the direction of the EE mount. I also like how in one of the previous posts someone was able to store an airline in the cubby beside the compressor.

    Thanks for the input everyone

I’ve been running my EE BCM for about a year now and it’s been working well. I’m also located in the upper left of the US and it’s been through mud, rain, snow and it’s held together well.

This is what I did last weekend, I have the quick connect coupler poking out of the rear bumper. Covered it with a rubber chair leg cap to keep it clean. The biggest PITA was running the electrical to the bed.

Looks great  I just buttoned up everything that's on the outside of the truck last night; just need to finish everything in the cab now. I'm so close.

No great pics because the final product came about after dark and I was working by headlamp. Just need to throw some bottom Cubby Caps on to seal the cubby & put the cover on the busbar cause I forgot about it before I closed it up the first time.:frusty: Then to install the switch and hook up my CB (ran the cables at the same time since they were on the same path. I 100% agree about the electrical; it's been a bitch but, I tried to do the best I could keeping it clean.

I just went on the website and saw that there is also a mount for the solenoid as well as a wiring kit. Looks like I’m going to spend a little bit more money than I originally anticipated.

I got mine in the mail the other day, and am very impressed with the quality and the attention to detail.
I bought their wire harness, grumbling about the cost. That thing is impressive! Well heat-shrinked and the two cables are even string-stitched.

Now I just wish it was easier to run the wires back up to the cab. It's the only thing holding me up in getting it installed.
