Hope to finish up the bumper on Sunday. Went with a synthetic 10k winch to keep weight down. Still trying to figure up how I want to do everything.

Going to give the smittybilt winch shackle a go. Says 17k rating we shall see

 

Went and looked at a 2018 TRD PRO, since it was there. At $47,000 they can keep it.

 

Ain't that the truth. If I was going to buy a new one, I buy a basic SR5 4WD (maybe with the Nav package upgrade) and spend the money I didn't spend on the truck making it a beast that would make the TRD Pro look like a joke.

If I just had to have the upgraded seats and junk, I'd just wait for some to turn up at the salvage yard.

 

Going full plate, or are you going to put that bender to use and make a hybrid? I'm anxious to see what you come up with

 

I'm getting an oil change at the stealership (big stipulation from the landlord is no oil changes onsite. He's a fabricator and gearhead, so he's fine with everything aside from fluid changes). When they called last night to confirm the appointment, they went into full sales mode. I shut them down right quick.

As much as it pains me to say it, I'm kind of partial to the Trail Gear front bumper. The only bits I don't like are 1) no integrated recovery points, just a single 2" receiver under the winch tray, 2) the 2" receiver under the winch tray means there is no plate between the bottom of the tray and the crossmember, and 3) the stinger. Kind of. I kinda like it, I kinda don't.

 

I really like this.

 

Is that the CBI Dakar? One perk of the CBI bumpers is the compatibility with OEM fog light assemblies. I think that only applies to their full plate bumpers though.
