What's the point of the Limited trim?

It seems like the only difference between the TRD Sport with the Premium Package and the Limited trim is the 18" wheels. Why would you spend thousands of dollars more for 18" wheels on a truck or is there something else I am missing? Also it seems like the TRD Off Road Premium package actually gives you more features for less money (Craw Control and Locking Diff.) I get the Limited trim on the 4Runner as it gives you a lot of exclusive features but it seems really pointless on the Tacoma.

And what is with no power seat? Dont get me wrong, I am cool with mechanically operated and I LOVE my Tacoma, but I agree with the OP. I wouldnt pay up for the LIMITED. Mine is awesome though! It was CHEAP!

They get home link and and basically everything offered on the premium package sport standard. I prefer the looks of the OR personally.

Yeah. I feel like the Limited should have power seats, power folding mirrors, and a real center diff like the Limited 4Runner then it would make sense.

Ok homelink is pretty cool but it looks like in the South East at least you can get the Homelink mirror as a dealer installed option for $350.

I was finding new limited Tacomas for like 38K or so before the pro was introduced.....then I promptly paid a few thousand more for a pro lol.

I believe gentex makes a mirror and you can swap it out yourself as well. I just don't like it because it's always on, so if you are parked outside, someone has an easy ability to get in your garage.

A lot of cars have that problem. Does the factory Homelink mirror stay on when the car is off or is it only the gentex one?

nice, it was only on the limited on the 16's.

In that case the Limited is now obsolete.

The Subaru ones don't. Lot's of parts shared with Toyota.

Same. I actually wondered about that before I realized I had it. I went about a year and a half after buying the truck and thought, man I should get one of those homelink mirrors everyone talks about. Then I looked up and realized I had it Haha. I am parked inside about 99% of the time when I am home though and I dont think I'd leave my truck outside over night especially with that feature now set up.

    #1, pure margin

#2, same as any pretty trim package above the basic mechanics of a given truck. Sell the sizzle. If enough 'someone's' like that combo, more units out the door.

Toyota isn't worried about your life or your actual needs. Just how to stroke your perceived needs to get deeper into your wallet.

It was only $90 and a few hours to get my 18 OR chrome free. Much easier than it used to be on my 2nd gen OR since they now offer color matched bumper caps.

I was talking about the limited. I have an OR also and need to replace the chrome turn signals from the side view mirrors.
