Followed today by driving 300 more miles to Myrtle Beach! I'm tired of driving for a couple days.

Dropped cash on the procomp 34 series for my silver DCSB Sport 4x4 here's a pic of someone else's tacoma that helped me pull the trigger they should be delivered and installed by next week

 

Nothing to fancy of difficult. The black Plastic Dip on the Right Rear TRD Bead lock wheel failed at the car wash, I know bad idea but was in a hurry. Prior oweer must have dipped them as original color is bronze. Just happened to have one can left from my 02 Tacoma Double cab. So used it. If this happens again and more that one wheel is affected will change the color.

 

Damn that looks so good! I was thinking about that bumper too. What steps are those? Also what lift/tire/wheel combo is that? It looks so proper!

 

Scored a color matched grille for cheap. My truck is officially de-chromed minus the emblems, which will be painted predawn gray mica eventually.
Swapped the grille in the parking lot lol

Went down to the dealership today and they quoted me almost $400 for a color matched grille.
Bought it online from Florida, shipped to Hawaii, for a lot cheaper. Stealerships...

 

Tried to take out front suspension and swap it with the shit in my Baja kit... bad idea.

Have to cut a stud off the old top hat because the nut is rounded and won't come off. Both LCAs are seized, so I can't easily get the old hardware out. Ran out of daylight 4 hours after start time.

Any tricks of the trade I'm missing? I have new top hats, but I need these ones out

 

The black color is kind of pissing me off because of how hard it is to maintain. I will take my truck to a Toyota dealer in Mexico to get my truck a new paint color. What color do y'all think I should go with? I think Magnetic Grey Metallic didn't exist in 2008, but I think I will go ahead and paint it. Any 2nd opinions?

 

Yeah cheapest I found was a 250ish free shipping on a new one on eBay, the 2011 mesh style. What’s funny is that it would have been more for me to get it at cost from work.
This’ll do for now, I plan to swap to the 2.5 gen front end at some point, but armor is priority now. Trying to get it all done before a trip to uwharrie

 

Soak in pb blaster overnight and use heat

 

I'm convinced that I've bathed in and have had a blood transfusion with PB blaster at this point... soaked them good today, will try heat tomorrow. Just would like to avoid replacing LCAs. I can afford it, but I really don't want to!

 

It's looking that way. 20 years ago it was a lot nicer. Seems to have gone downhill since then. Where's the closest beach that you can drive on? Thanks!

My son and I installed a 3" RC lift kit on his 2005 tacoma Prerunner last night.
Ordered new Fuel Vapor Wheels 17x9(Matt Black) and new Cooper Discover MTP 285/70/17 tires.
getting them put on tomorrow.

He is super excited.
