Boring AF!

There’s a few guys that are 60 plus hours into it and still aren’t done. They give you 5 months to finish it once you start. Supposedly it’s a once and done course. Never have to do it again as long as I don’t lose my certification card.

 

correct i still have my osha 10 card in my safe. dont ever want to do that again.

 

I’ve done several “courses” through them on my home computer. It always takes way longer because I get bored and have a few to many drinks out of boredom and fail the tests.

 

Mine's currently directly to the battery. My plan was to already have a circuit breaker and additional fuse block installed, and I was going to incorporate a quick disconnect for the winch circuit.
...I just haven't gotten around to sourcing the bits to get all that done.

 

My shit is wired straight to the battery with no circuit braker. Just a switch directly off the battery to kill the power. When done using it just turn the switch to off. You’d have to install a hell of a circuit braker to handle the amps/draw from a winch.

 

@EDDO i copied Eddos battery disconnect for my winch, he may be able to give you part numbers for it.

 

After reading my post, I see the confusion. I wasn't planning on adding a circuit breaker for the winch; it'd need to be a 400a+ unit, and I can only imagine what that would cost. The plan was to add a quick disconnect, but mount it to the same plate as I want my circuit breaker and fuse box to be on. I'm interested to see what sort of hardware you guys have used. My thought was something similar to a normal battery terminal disconnect (probably threaded).

how many horsepower is this winch motor?!? a 1HP motor is about 1000 watts, which at 12V is like 85 amps.
