It really is a cakewalk once you know what you're doing. The hardest part for me was finding damned newspaper!

How long did you wait between coats?

I’m in AZ and due to the heat, it really only took about 10min till it was almost dry to the touch. I think online a lot of instructions say 30min. It depends on how damp the air is and how long the dry time is for you.

So to answer you question, 10min between coats. After my last coat, I waited almost 45 to peel it off though. I did 8 coats. First one was a light spray with the emblem being about 60-70% visible. 2nd coat was a thick coat. 3-7 were all done at different angles to make sure I got all the little corners that the spray might miss.last coat was again, straight on. One thing I learned by doing was to spray with burst as oppose to holding down the spray nozzle full on. This prevented over spraying one part and potentially having an uneven coat.

One last tip. Get your self a few rounded tooth picks. Sometimes the dip doesnlt peel perfectly so you can use the tooth pick to poke off some. Also the interior of the “A” and the “O” are tedious and you need to use something small to pick out the dip.

When I did my grille and wheels, I only waited 15 min between coats. I live in WA state so it wasn't nearly as warm. I did let them sit a good hour before removing any tape or masking stuff when I did my wheels and waited an hour before putting the grille back together.

Forgot to add that I did Tailgate raised emblems as well. I also removed the V6 emblem.

Mine is being pretty resiliant and not coming out with just my fingers. Should I be using a flat head screwdriver or some kind of tool for removal?

Not difficult at all, just make sure you put enough coats on and wait in between coats, and that it's dry enough before peeling. I made all of those mistakes and had to redo it, but wasn't hard to peel off and try again, which is the beauty of plastidip.

Did you used plastidip on the exhaust tip or some high heat paint? I'm curious how plastidip stands up to the temps of the exhaust.

The paint (dip) on the body came off with the tape?
