    Substantially stronger! The plastic factory bed cleats are flimsy at best and I personally don’t trust them with ratchet straps.
    Your idea sounds cool but might be a bit overkill for most people’s needs...thanks for sharing though!

    Well, I have to say that I am super stoked that these also work with a bed rack. :thumbsup:

    Kind of hard to see in this pic below, but the rack support/upright fits in between the rail and the front rail tie down.

    These look sweet! I know the first page states you need to purchase the front rail for the 3rd gen. But I can't tell from you pictures if you did that or not. Did you use/purchase the front rail? Or mount it directly to the front of the bed?

    All the pics in the first page are of second gen trucks including my own...
    The third gen bed already has the holes for the factory front bed rail, so you bolt that on then bolt my brackets to it.

    Welcome to Tacoma World :hattip: and congrats on your new Tacoma. :thumbsup:

    IMO, this is an excellent addition to the Tacoma. Well worth the money. I also ordered and installed the @At The Helm Bedside Reinforcements/Tie Downs as I knew that I would be needing them with the Bed Rack, and RTT eventually.

    I got the front rail to mount the Front Rail Tie Down/Wheel Chock System. You should hit up @gunny1005 and order the front rail from him. You will get a much better deal ordering from him. That is where I ordered mine from.

    It doesn’t... I have thought about making them that way but I’d have to redesign it and make two versions, one for those who have the factory front rail and another for those who don’t have it.

    Not that I’m aware of. This completely covers the front rail so you’d have to find a way to bolt the fork mounts to the tie down system.

    That plastic bar on top of the front of the bed is why I’d have to redesign it in order to work without the factory channel rail added for third gens.
    The wheel chock/tie downs work fine on third gens if the factory channel rail is added. This is the part that had to added on third gens:

    Here are two pics of them mounted to a second gen and third gen.
    That plastic bar on top of the bed covers up the added factory bed rail, so maybe that’s where the confusion is?
