I know this law was up for debate a few years back due to a controversial case involving a person who was initially stopped for a traffic violation and then found to be in possession of a large amount of cocaine. His defense team argued the stop was unlawful, blah ...blah blah blah blah.....guy was caught again with cocaine ...... but it brought up the argument that front plates are not required. So they re-wrote the law to better clarify that plates are required, HOWEVER forgot to include the fine/penalty for not having a front plate. OOPS!

"There was a lot of confusion in 2012 when the Texas legislature reorganized the Transportation Code because legislators unintentionally removed the penalty for vehicles that did not display two plates. The law required two license plates, but there was no penalty for vehicles that did not comply. Anyone pulled over for failure to display a front license plate while the statute lacked a penalty was able to challenge the ticket. This oversight was fixed in 2013, and Texas is now back to clearly being a two-plate state."

On my Tacoma, I run two plates b/c its my daily driver and the law says I am supposed to.

My VW R32? Well......I'd gladly pay the ticket if I ever got one b/c I'm not going to drill holes in my front bumper ...... The parts for this car these days are becoming rare/scarce and I don't want holes in it @ryanbitt will understand this logic

Hopefully have time to work on it this summer. Wiring isn't my specialty though... I'll let y'all know how loading it onto a trailer goes
