What type of stuff do you want to see/do? Will you have a vehicle? Have you been here before and how are you with the elevation?

Seconding Mt. Evans, it's beautiful up there.

Need to take my wife back up there to see the mountain goats.

If you make your way to Mt. Evans, then you may as well see a few things in Idaho Springs. You can tour the Argo Mill and pan a few flakes of gold, just down the road is the Phoenix Gold Mine tour, you can get an authentic mountain pie (Colorado-style pizza) at Beau Jo's, drive Oh My God Road up to Russell Gulch and through to Central City to see those areas. The museum at the Idaho Springs Visitor's Center is pretty nice and free.

interesting story: friend took his car in for hail damage estimate and then to dealer body shop for repair. All good - then in the process he decides to make a deal with dealer for a new vehicle. Dealer comes back with Carfax on car in shop - it says totaled! come to find out Carfax has a threshold value for damage that triggers "totaled" even though a vehicle may have never been in an accident. In this case the repair cost for the hail resulted in "totaled" per CarFax. WTF!

Just wait for the next stage... For a fee, Carfax will "assess" their decision to tag it as totaled in their system. Pay for the best assessor and they'll probably determine it actually has a clean title.

Just like how the Better Business Bureau works now.

This is the exact reason we were able to get my wife's 4runner so cheap. Carfux say it had major frame repair for rear end collision and that dropped the trade in value. Typical with 4runners the rear cross member needs to be replaced with any rear end collision. It was a quality repair and I was able to buy it from the customer before they traded it in for 1/4 of the market value for v8 4runners with 120k miles or less.

Also, this further irons in the point that you should either lease, plan on keeping the vehicle forever or drive older vehicles that are at the point where Carfux doesn't change the valve.

But most sheeple just see an A+ and think it's a good company. All of the different locations of ontrac have the same story...sure there are tons of others and people think the BBB is legit.

Yelp is the same way as BBB, just a way to make money giving good ratings while scrubbing the negative out
