The steps on my nerf bars are heavily faded. I have been using mothers black restore, it's not really doing the trick. Any suggestions

I'd refrain from using plastidip on the step part of those
I'm a huge plastidip fan.. wheels..gas cap..rear bumper and especially emblems is where plastidip really works well..
Interior or exterior parts that get touched alot will not hold up for long before peeling.

I'd try a plastic dye like you can find videos of on youtube.

I've had good luck with Aerospace 303 for restoring faded plastics.

303 is good but it is not best/only option for all plastic fading issues.

Great until the first rain.

Ummm no. Shockingly 303 is not the end all be all trim restorer. GTechniq C4 is superior and lasts longer.

I used it on a plastic/rubber boat platform that spent 8 neglected years on a lift at the lake. If you stepped on it, your feet would turn black and get all over the white interior sun deck. Made it look brand new. It also stopped it from turning your feet black. Applied a couple times a year on going and it still looks brand new. And the boat is used constantly. So the first rain comment has me scratching my head.

I have seen it plenty times on the bedside of my truck after a rain. While you are applying a couple times a year, I am applying once every couple of years.

Never heard of Gtechniq. I'll give it a look as well. I've had great luck with 303 in the rain, but that probably highly depends on what you're putting it on (slick plastics vs coarse or textured plastics, etc. etc.)

I have covered 3-4 vehicles with that. Easily gotten 18 months out of one application. Sure it’s expensive but it beats having to constantly reapply.

You can heal the sick, but you cannot raise the dead.

Once black plastics loose their color and really turn white, not a whole heck of a lot you can do at that point but hit it with some sort of paint or dye product.

You can’t bring back color that isn’t there.

I like Chemical Guys trim gel. Works well and stays for several months.

Please don’t use shoe polish. I shouldn’t have to elaborate further.

Supposedly you can resurrect it. Not my video and I've never tried it. I'd be curious to see how long it lasts.

Tried that on my last truck. Don’t recommend it. Eventually turns blotchy.
