Picked up a Mt Bachelor from CVT Chattanooga today!

 

Blue on Black is definitely one of their greatest covers yet. I'm still blown away by their cover of Gone Away.

 

Drove it in the rain for the 1st time since I got it in Feb. Granted it hasn’t rained here since then. But it’s ruined now, time to trade it in for new truck. Lol

 

Finally picked up my 3rd gen. 5 years ago almost to the day, my wife and I wrecked my 2nd gen which totaled it. 5 years of hard work and finally got a new one. Super stoked!

Removed the factory ‘TACOMA’ badge and replaced it with a matte black one from Import Equipment. Removed the rest of the chrome badges also.

Got my two front windows tinted 35% and windshield done in 70%

 

Shovel and axe mount. Diamond plate, plastidip, t-nuts, and quick fists. Makes a pretty good fly rod holder too.

 

A sharing moment. Cleaning out the garage cabinets and ran across a picture of my 1st car I wrapped around the front of a school bus back in 1977. Had brand new paint, new BFG tires, new cam, upgraded heads, new Holley and intake, new headers and exhaust and a freshly rebuilt 391 posi rear end. Luckily I had just dropped the collision insurance and squeezed $200 from the scrapyard (Dad said get it out of his yard asap). No such thing as craigslist or forums to part out the goodies back then. Note the retro bell bottom jeans that coordinated the neck brace. Back then we didn't need no stinkin TSS or airbags. That big black bus bumper stopped me just fine. Never did regain my senses. Yes it is a crappy copy of a crappy Polaroid picture. But man I still miss that car.

 

Today I installed my new tailgate lock, me like it a lot.

Threw on a set of 2G OEM running boards. I'd rather change 1,000 suspensions than put another set of these on. Who knew lining up holes would be so effing difficult. Granted when you've doused the truck in Fluid Film and covered the mounting bolts in anti-seize, you're asking for a liquid grime time!

I freaking love derp... derped my badges, grill, end caps... stuff is awesome

 

Went and picked up parts today. Was a perfect day out for a drive too. Washing the truck and hopefully some installs tomorrow.

 

I want to do my bumper next. Anyone done the bumper yet? Only chrome left, well the grille, but pro grille will be here Monday.
