Power Source in Headliner?

Not exactly A/V question, but yall probably know best and I didn't know where else to go with this.

I am looking to hardwire my radar detector. I don't have the in-mirror rear-view I have the version with the display in the dash.

Is there a power source I can tap up above if I remove the headliner? The overhead light maybe? I'd rather do that then pull the pillar cover and dick around underneath the dash if I don't have to. Even if removing the headliner is a bit more 'work'.

If you remove the sunglasses holders their is power for the rear view mirror you should be able to tap in to.

 

Oh nice, is it standard there just in case the truck gets the rear-view backup cam?

 

I would use an add a fuse and tap off an accessory source on the fuse box(not airbags, abs) and ground to chassis.

 

I had a manuel review mirror and upgraded to an autodim/ homelink mirror so that’s why I know there is a plug for it. I bought the mirror here on TW and he supplied the plug. I’m hoping to find a splitter so I can add a dashcam myself.

It's pretty easy to get a wire down to the fuse panel by removing the a pillar cover. Headliner doesn't need to come down you can fish the wire with a coat hanger. I did this for my dash cam
