Toyocare Extended Warranty

After dealing with my 2nd gen Taco I am on the fence about purchasing this for my 3rd gen. My local dealership is a rip off.

I know with Honda Care you can buy from any dealer nationwide and some are extremely competitive pricing.

Have you guys found dealerships that discount Toyocare Extended Warranty plans?

I looked into this when I first bought my truck. The local dealership wanted more than $1k, which was too much.

Through TW I found a local dealership that offered the same warranty for around $600 in 2016.

I could purchase it anytime before 3 years or 36k miles.

I still have some time, but will probably not go for it.

One thing I didn't know was that the Toyota warranty allows the dealership to install used parts.

These warranties are supposedly big money makers for Toyota, and the dealerships that sell them

The local dealership guy did mention that Toyota Corp. restricts the dealership to only sell locally.

If you give your location, you might get some leads.

You might also ask in your local forum.

Thanks for the reply. The one thing I have found out so far is that you can buy from any dealership. Of course Toyota would like to have your business stay at your local dealership.

Yep you can shop around through other dealers. I just played the one number vs other number game. Paid $1050 for a 7yr/125k Platinum (bumper to bumper) one. With how many electronics and what not are in these trucks now, I figured it was worth it, this puppy has to last me awhile.

Yes I got the 7/70k miles bumper to bumper for 800$

So my care plan is up come August and I am seeing I can buy the extended care plan for $329.....anyone already go for this or can give me reasons not to get it? Sounds like a savings of about $200-300 over the next couple years of maintenance.
