I thought about getting one of those for my truck, just for the oblivious idiots here in NY. I mean, WTF are you doing in the passing lane doing the speed limit or less not passing people? That forces people to swerve around you into the right lane and back over to the left before the next person doing the speed limit in the right lane. Increases the chances of an accident occuring because the person in the left lane is to oblivious to what's going on around him/her to realize he/she is in the wrong lane.

Seems like I heard once there was a law in PA about driving in the left lane for more than a mile or so without passing anyone. Not sure if it's true or not, but it would make sense.

On the other hand, a cop could use it as an excuse to pull you over thinking it's there so you can speed. Sorta like having a radar detector. Not sure if that would happen or not, but I'm not planning on finding out!

A buddy of mine likes to come up behind slow people in the passing lane and flash his lights 3 times rapidly. People think it's a cop or emergency vehicle and move over. :D

Personally, I'd rather just have train horns to blast, make them wake the fuck up, and pay attention to the road. Put the phone/Big Mac/eye liner/lipstick/whatever down and fuckin' drive!

As much as I hate it when people go slow in the fast lane, I hate it even more when I'm being tailgated. I can only go as fast as the guy ahead of me, so I don't see what people expect to accomplish by doing it. When I was younger, I wouldn't hesitate to slam on my breaks when someone was tailgating me (Damn, saying that makes me feel old, but I'm not even 30). Just for a split second, long enough to scare the crap out of them, then I'd gun it. Legally, he's at fault if he rear-ends me. So my attitude was if buddy want's to buy me a new bumper, so be it.

That said, it's a different story if, like you said, they are just driving side-by-side, with no one in front of them. If I'm in the passing lane, it's because I'm passing people.

One thing to think about is the 2nd person may be at fault in that accident, but I know in NY brake checking is also illegal. So you can both get ticketed for the accident. I had a guy do that to me and three other drivers (all just trying to do the speed limit and he brake checked each person 3 times or more in a row instead of just going, and stopping at the next red light). Cop showed up to talk to me after the guy tried running me off the road. The guy swerved towards the outside concrete barrier around an on ramp and hit the brakes. I swerved around to avoid hitting it, and getting rear ended by the car behind me if I slammed on the brakes too. Then the jackass hits the gas and swerves into me! (He's in a ford taurus, I'm in my tacoma.....) I think I just got minor scratches on the paint when I floored it to get around him and kinda bumped him back over a bit. :D Anyway, the cop was like "WHAT?! YOU DON'T FUCKING BRAKE CHECK SOMEONE ON AN ON RAMP!!!!" He seriously sounded pissed, and I bet that guy got a ticket or two. The other guy was dumb enough to admit to the cop that he brake checked me too.

I like 'em, I might buy one for my truck.

Note: I am almost always within 3MPH of the speedlimit and don't tailgate, I just find them funny,.

Rodge over on TN has one. Not sure if he's had any problems with it. Last I heard people moved over for him. :D

    That's the truth!
I want to get a sticker that says "Slower Traffic Keep Right".
If somebody is going faster than I am, I move over. I can always get right back in the left lane. I expect the same treatment. Just move over and stay in the right lane unless your passing.

Dont be to surprised when you come to Hawaii, we have a ton of idiot/slow drivers. We have similar conditions, where a 15-20 mile drive can take over an hour. Last time I took notice, I was averaging 5mph in (light) afternoon traffic on the highway. In non rush hour(s) its not too bad, but still fursturating.

I went back to Hawaii in 2006 and it seemed like it took 45 min. to get from Waikiki Beach to Hickam AFB.
    Traffic was terrible!!!

Well, I'm sure the laws vary from place to place. But yea, it's not the smartest thing to do either way. I was 18 at the time. I've learned to be a little more courteous behind the wheel in the 10 years since. And besides, with the new Taco on the way, I dare not put my baby in danger. :D

I need something a little stronger than a sticker. I wouldn't mind a mounted gun or some forks on the front to lift them up and place them in the appropriate lane. I live on the same road as a indian casino. Every blue hair in the county with a roll of nickels is doing 15 20 under the limit.

i am from md originally and i can agree that people up there drive like idiots. floridians are the same way especially when you factor all the out of staters into the mix.

i don't think the sticker will help at all. the main problem is that people don't pay close enough attention when they are driving. i am constantly looking at my rearview mirror and gauges to monitor what is going on while i am driving and the majority of drivers don't do it at all. think of the last time you saw someone driving in the middle of the night with no lights on...

USMCBulldog...I totally agree with you...MD drivers are terrible. I pick my friend up from PAX River every weekend and it takes 1.5 hours just to get there. They go 50 on a single-line road and they never get the point that the right lane are for slow drivers. I guess they only realize it when they see a Taco come up from behind in their rearview. :)

i will never make these for anyone.

these are a representation of a personality that I don't get along with.

I caught this thread after it was already 3 pages long. I only took the time to read the first page...

I agree with anyone who thinks people with those stickers are tools.

I would absolutely do that. I wouldn't go UNDER the speed limit, but I'd back down to 70 (or whatever).

    Don't get the sticker.

I agree with not getting one. I like the idea but as people stated the slow in the fast lane drivers would never notice. Regular people would see that in their rear view get defense or irritated and you would just get c blocked. I always get over when someone is traveling at a higher rate of speed. I don't like to weave in and out of traffic or pass on the right so it sucks when people don't follow the rules of the road. I get pretty pissed and could see myself losing control and doing something I would regret. I am a asshole though. I will pull out in front of anyone trying to box me in. The back of my truck is stronger than the front of most vehicles. People always seem to forget how to merge and need reminding. Drive like a douche and get treated like one. So pass on the sticker and just crash into the sob. Isn't that what full coverage is all about? :D

I've been tempted to get the sticker after getting a winch bumper.... :D First they notice the sticker, then the reinforced steel bumper if they glance a little lower.... Make 'em think this is gonna hurt them a lot more than it hurts me....

    Lots.
People in maryland suck at driving anyway. The left lane is for passing. I like to pass. That is where I spend most of my time:D.

The people that don't move get a really nice view of my toyota emblem on the front end while I am tailgating them.
