I used the Yakima system, 4 tower bases, two holes each base. I also have a 100r cap. Use a small punch to make a pilot hole first. I sealed it all up with silicone to make sure it didn’t leak as I assembled the tower bases. I just did a 1200 trip with a roof rack on, an probably overloaded it a bit. It all held up perfectly. Very happy with the set up. I used a Curtis rack that attaches to the cross bars, it goes on and off pretty easy and stays put. I like the idea of it attaching to the cross rails so I can easily take it off when I am transporting surf boards.

886 should be what 3rd gen owners go with. Not very stiff at all with no added weight and you don’t have to worry about the sag that the 887s and 888s experience

Really easy to do. I used the plug and play adapters that are provided for free from Clutchfield. They also provided speaker mount adapters for free too.

I followed the info provided in this post by bshammer0:

I would maybe do 886 with 1/2 spacer on drivers side and 1/4 on passenger side. Should get you 2.75” or so. I’m running 285/75/17 (about 34”s) with no spacers above my 886s and only rub a bit on plastic on my Drivers side (due to the taco lean) after cmc and pinch weld hammering. All I need now is a dremel and a couple small cuts

Used it to haul a new toy back to the house.

Gonna knock some build up off the brickwork and deck tomorrow.

I didn’t believe how slippery he bed was going to be so I did not get a bed mat when we got the truck. After a few weeks, something had to be done! I always have something in the back it seems sliding around!
I sprayed rubbberized rocker guard paint.... taped the lows of the channels so the rocker guard is only on the high spots. A good rub with 60 grit and some acetone made it stick like a charm.
My spare trailer hitch receiver didn’t even move around, I was surprised!

I’ve been curious to see how these work with a short bed. Looks good! How’d it drive with it on?

Well lets just say that I just ordered a sway bar for it even though it handled pretty well. I would definitley benefit from installing one on the rear and perhaps upgrade the stock sway bar on the front.
