Removed the front diff skid plate under my truck tonight and this bolt was sitting on it. I have no idea where it goes but it wasn’t there when I removed the skid plate a couple weeks ago. Got the frame replaced a month ago and wonder if it’s an extra part or if it came loose from somewhere.

Well this morning I found the nut that goes with it on my driveway.

They use similar bolts to mount the seat brackets and other stuff to the cab. Not sure what it would be from under the hood though.

I'm pretty sure it came from my truck because the bolt was sitting up on top of the differential skid plate and the nut was on the ground under the truck. I'm just wondering where it came from so I can put it back.

The threads look rounded off. Does the nut screw on normally? I would replace them.

Those threads are boogerd up. Thats probably why it fell out. I was changing motor mounts on a 5 lug the other day and who ever did it before couldn't even get both bolts in the hole. One was just put in a hole and doing nothing.

Do you mean alignment cam bolt? If that's what you mean, that's not what ours look like.

Yeah that's what I meant. I'm not really too familiar with them, I just saw them in a video once and recognized them.

I looked through parts diagrams and the motor mounts don't use bolts with tab washers, from what I can tell. It looks more like a camber bolt but not for a Tacoma...

I looked through the service manual again and crap, I guess it is a bolt for the engine mount:

@nh_yota now that you know the bit, and that it's damaged, I'd go back to the dealer with the part in hand, asking for a new one, including installation.

    Should be fast and free.
