    EXPLORE LABRADOR

    Trans-Labrador Highway

The remoteness of the Trans-Labrador Highway challenges drivers from around the world. To survive this epic roadtrip into unparalleled wilderness, one must be as capable of dealing with mechanical faults as with persistent bloodsucking insects, bone-soaking rain, and moose hell-bent on auto-suicide.
For much of the 1185km you can feel like the Last Great Driver on Earth."

That's basically all you need for a few days away from home. I see a lot of over kill. But don't forget a roll of tp.

Have you lubed your Hi-lift today?
    41120979-0842-4CAC-AAB7-2187EE64AB54.jpg

Those pins and pivots tend to stick if it isn’t lubed and cycled every once in awhile.

Yeah. The EMPTY truck already weighs a LOT! But never weighed it.

I’m guessing over a thousand pounds over stock. Front plate bumper w full hoops, rear plate HC bumpers with swingout/fold down table, SnugTop Cap, 1/4” reinforced steel IFS skid, 3/16” reinforced Tranny, Front Diff, rear diff skids, 1/4” aluminum gas tank skid, all steel sliders, dual batteries, 12k rated winch.

Probably another 800 pounds geared up, including water, fuel, propane.

I drive a Prius or ride my bike on weekdays. :)

Have you maintained/cleaned your winch line today?

Dirt and grit can work it’s way into the synthetic line and break down the fibers over time. Regular maintenance helps slow down that process.

Dry and respool under tension (I use a handy Prius)
