You sure it wasn't ABS? The system on these trucks is super sensitive and can lead to situations offroad where it just lets the wheels keep spinning. I installed an ABS disable switch (there is a how to somewhere on TW) and it is pure gold for going downhill on shale or loose gravel. Also just fun when hauling ass to have true control over the brakes.

 

Holy smokes that is expensive for what it is. Guess the shop press gets to stay for a while longer.

 

Yeah abs sucks. Wasn't that. I generally run in 2wd locked and abs off for a more predictable truck.

 

But if they're kings, they should have adjustable preload for he coils. If they are cranked down a bunch to get extra lift, it's gonna ride harsher. I don't really know spring rates for 1st gens, but 650 sounds high for a 4cyl even with a heavy front bumper.

 

Are there any of those uniball tools that work with 1.0 and 1.25" uniballs?

I press my 1" uniballs out with this

 

How often you replace yours. I'm thinking i'm about due.

 

I use the super cheap uniball. I get about 3 to 4 years out of them when they start to clunk.

 

I have 600s on my double cab V6 with a plate bumper. It's super soft and smooth.

You need to uncompress your coils a bit..or a lot. And if that doesn't help. You could revalve them.

Double check that none of your studs are broken, allowing the rotor to run out.

 

crank your coils down first as thats a free mod.

Then start messing with valving.

got the new spacer in there hub centric to oem hub/hub centric to my method rim 1.5

looks way better now

 

Check your wheel bearings. I have had issues on my race truck with the same thing. That was more so from the flanged axles flexing and pushing the pads in. In a rough section I would pump the brakes every once and awhile to make sure they stayed close for when you actually need them. Wheel bearings will do the same exact thing though.
