I'm sure this has been discussed many times before but I don't want to wade through a ton of search results to find it. So, I have these three switches I want to illuminate. Can I splice them all together on, say, the cargo light or is that too much for one fuse? Other suggestions?

That's how I have mine done and I've had no problems. Had them installed that way for about 6 months now.

I spliced my two rocker switches with the wire that illuminates cargo light switch. This way they only light up when the lights are on.

If they’re wired to your cargo light switch then your switch back lights only work when you’re cargo light is on. Is that how you intend it to work? You have a couple of options for back lighting: you can do a fuse tap on your taillight circuit but you will not have any dimming. The other option is to tie into a dimable circuit for the dash lighting. The load on the circuits from these switch backlight led’s is so minimal it’s probably measured in mA.

I didn't mean the cargo light itself. I meant the cargo light switch illumination. I'm just concerned having 4 switches might overload the fuse

No. I just used the wire that illuminates my cargo light switch when the headlights are on. So now my two new switches light up like everything else at night when the headlights come on.

I used an add a fuse tapped into the tail light fuse. They only glow when your lights are on.

I'm gonna give it a try when my ditch lights arrive. I considered just wiring the ditch lights to the cargo lights and using the existing switch. I never use the cargo light anyway. My RTT blocks it.

If you’re just using this for the night time, switch lighting itself you’ll be totally fine. You could always install an inline fuse and install a 1-2 amp fuse but really the current is so low you couldn’t even quantify it. Just make sure you have a really good ground.

Same here. I have 4 lighted switches tied into the illumination wire and have had no issues.

The illumination in those switches uses only a tiny bit of juice. So low you'd have a hard time measuring their draw with an amp meter. (It's safe.)

If I recall (?) you want to use the tan wire in the cargo light switch as the ground to have the dimmer work on these switches. Otherwise, they are probably going to be too bright. But get a second opinion on that wire.

Most people tap the green cargo light wire and then attach all the buttons to that wire.
