Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and was hoping I could get some help with my truck. I recently installed a set of Cooper ST Maxx 255/85/16 on my 2008 Single Cab Tacoma with a 3” lift and now my truck pulls to the right and has pretty bad bump steer. The shop I took it to for alignment told me they can’t align it because of the UCA adjustment is maxed out. I had a set of 265/85/16 Duratracs on before and didn’t have any alignment issues or bump steer before. I find it hard to believe that putting those tires would need upgraded UCAs. I was wondering if anyone is running a similar setup and is having the same issues. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Did you have the lift with the 265s?

Yes. Nothing changed but the tire size. It drove awesome before.

I will say that with my 255/80r17 ST Maxxs, the bumpsteer was definitely much more noticeable over my 265/75r17 falkens. Given the Cooper's are 10lbs heavier per corner, I figured that's how 10ply tires behave.

I have JBA high caster UCAs so no alignment issues

Yea I think it’s tile to upgrade my UCAs but I just wanted to see if anyone was running a similar set up with stock UCAs. Thanks for the help Chase. Your truck looks awesome by the way!

You need new UCA's,thats part of the cost of lifting your truck that high.I am running 255/75/17 which is the same as diameter as your tires, but I am lifted 1.75,and my factory UCA's just barely work with this combo.

At 2.5" of lift with stock UCAs, my truck was annoying to drive because of bump steer. I can't imagine going to 3" with stock UCAs. My truck drives great now at 3" with LR UCAs.
