Hey Tyler, did you consider plastic with velcro or twist lock fasteners like you see in marine applications to secure it? Then you could roll them up and stow them just about anywhere. I think protection from the elements is a must. You could skin out the door portion with canvas and incorporate a plastic window. Roll with open tube until you need the protection. I like the idea of the whole thing.

So the plan (for now) is to basically cover the outer part in sheet metal, that way we can form a seal along the bottom of the door with some weather stripping. This will allow us to still go through some mud and minor water crossings without letting in much water, as well as protect our legs from smaller branches.
As for an emergency window, we were thinking plexi that would basically attach to the top tube of the door to give some barrier from the rain. But the plastic wouldn't be a bad idea either. It would also be a lot easier to carry around than 2 sheets of plexi.

My goal with these is to be able to enjoy them without destroying the interior due to water damage. It's a crazy idea, especially me being in a year old vehicle, but I've always wanted tube/half doors for wheeling, and I think between Randy and myself, we can make this work.

You need to chill with your "naps" I take a 1 hour nap and I'm good to stay up the entire night for work

I normally dont nap on the weekends. But Theia woke me up at 0430 and I couldn't fall back asleep, then had to take meds caus I couldn't stop sneezing. Those combined caused me to knock out.

Ohhhh, I thought you guys were gonna go full on hard core dessert racers and get rid of all the carpet, and fabric seats so you could get into the mud and water and not have to worry. LOL. Just kidding. But I did think these would be summer replacements and water and mud would be out of the question. You guys are cra cra!

Eventually I plan to rip the carpet out and get it rhino lined or something like that, but that just isnt in the budget right now. and they will be summer replacements, but it never fails that every time we go somewhere, there is at least some water hole or mud hole that comes up to the doors, so we have to deal with that still. I dont really care about the carpet, since I have rubber floor mats throughout the whole thing. I just dont have a better replacement for the carpet at this point.

    Jerry,
Oh, and been meaning to hit you up with some questions about your lift kit/suspension setup. @EatSleepTacos says I should talk to you before I make a move. Might be what you're running is what I need. I'm in no rush and it won't be happening anytime real soon, I just want to be sure I have all my ducks in a row should a sale pop up.
    Thanks,
    Rob
