I still rub when I flex with my 3.5 bs, with 255/85R16's. That's after a couple sessions with the sledge. It won't go away until I trim the flare, which I've been holding off on...though I have a nice polished white fiberglass spot now on the very bottom corner. hahahhaaha

Edit: it's not bad for me now, since I'm a slow driver. You, well...you're still young.

Yeah yeah, you old me young. You'd really enjoy the extra fun if you let your truck have the suspension and let your back focus on protecting your spinal cord haha. I'll trim my flares when I finally make it home and let you know if that solves the last of it. It'll eventually wear itself out but I'm close to finishing off the last of the rubbing bits. It was such a solid landing, nice and cushy but the rubbing noise ruined it for me anyway :/ Still 95% sure I have a bent axle shaft from Moab that I also need to test for when I get back, in Seattle BTW :)

Got my taco out of the garage and in the dirt, beautiful day in socal. Ran accross a red diamond rattler...stood in the bed of my buddies second gen to take some picks. Thing decided to sneak up on us. 5428F4C5-55A3-4484-A7B0-ECF780D32140.jpg

haha no way was I getting any closer to that guy. Was an awesome looking snake. We were really lucky yesterday wasnt an emergency situation. That guy snuck up behind my buddies truck while we were eating and rattled like crazy when he went back there to piss.

its progress though! Looks like the cage is coming together!

Awesome news about the truck. Just got it off the lift from my mechanic and the noise I was hearing was from the inspection plate. Couple of bolts are missing and it's rubbing against the transmission. Phew

Hmm I wonder if that's my issue. Thought it was a ujoint so I replaced one, didn't go away so I replaced the rear most one but haven't tested it.

Just go ahead and bed line it. Kinda like this VVVVVV he went a little over the bed top which is what I would do to get what you want without rubbing the paint

How much room do you need?

I bought one of these Lund ATV boxes for my roof rack when the price dropped to $129. I keep my recovery gear in it. I might get another one. It's $145 now.

Smittybilt makes a Defender roof rack for 1st gen Xtra cabs, I have it on my truck. You have to drill the roof to mount it, not sure about the Prinsu.

I did it with the Smittybilt rack I have. To be honest, I half regret it and half don't....I think the rack looks great and it serves it's purpose, but after 2 years with it on I find myself sometimes wanting to remove it, and I can't (not without a lot of restorative work). Had to drill 8 half inch holes in the roof to mount it, so it's pretty permanent.

The first time you drill a hole into your truck is a "special" experience to say the least. Afterward, you know there's no turning back so the rest were pretty easy and straightforward lol.

Measure twice and drill once. And have a steady hand when you do.
