    Has anyone had a lift kit installed at a 4 Wheel Parts location? preferably in the Cincinnati, OH area. Trying to find a good place to have a lift kit installed on a 2013 TRDOR in/close to Cincinnati.

    What's a fair price for 3" lift kit install these days?

    I'm in SoCal but haven't really heard good things about 4WP as far as having them do work on your truck. I just use them to buy from.

    Might be better in your area though, I dunno. What kind of lift kit are we talking about? Coilovers, spacers/blocks, leaf springs, etc.?

    Yeah, they just opened up a new store in town so I was curious.

    Coilovers, uca's, AAL, tires, etc

    Well, for what it's worth I had that same kind of lift kit installed on my truck a couple years ago by a local alignment and tire shop, they charged me right around $300 IIRC and that included an alignment.

    edit: I didn't get UCAs put in by them though...I had those installed later for $200 by a local TW member. UCAs can be a pain in the ass compared to the other stuff, which is pretty much all bolt in.

    I remember calling around to get quotes and our local 4x4 shops wanted close to a grand to do all that work.

    I would find a local thread on TW, and ask for help and provide any food or beer that anyone may want. I guarantee there are members around that will help you install for free. It’s a great learning experience too, since it’s not difficult work.

    A few additions to make me feel cool.
    I have never had the 4WP here in Reno work on my stuff but I have purchased from several and online and with the amount of orders they screw up I doubt I would be apt to let them work on my truck. I think the going rate to install a lift is about $800 at 4WP though. It is not that tough to do and you might be able to find a member or two in your area that would be willing to help you get it done for beer.

    yeah I should mention that when I installed my second lift (Kings, Dakars, rear Icons, etc.) I did it all myself. It's really not that hard, just need to have the right tools. It's all just nuts and bolts, really.

    I called an off road shop close by and they wanted around $600 for everything installed + alignment. Not sure if that's a good deal or not...better than $1000...

    For a front/rear lift kit with UCAs, I'd say that's a fair deal for a shop quote.

    Figure out here most shops charge $80 - $120/hr for work, so for a ~ 5 hour job more or less, that sounds about right.

    A few additions to make me feel cool.
    It is really not hard to install the lift yourself with pretty basic tools. I have done a bunch on Tacoma's and Tundra's and even swapping the leaf packs with a helper you can have everything done in two to three hours including beer breaks. $600 is not a bad price but if you invested that into tools you would be able to knock it out and would have the tools to boot.

    I am handy enough to do the work (minus the alignment) but having the right tools is keeping me from doing it myself.

    Harbor freight is your friend. You could buy all the tools needed for like $200. That’s if you need everything, like floor jack, jack stands, sockets, rachet, torque wrench, etc.

    A few additions to make me feel cool.
    You really do not need much in the way of tools. A basic socket set including 1/2 drive. A good breaker bar and pry bar that is about 2' long helps. Save yourself some hassle and order the front coil-overs assembled and it's easy. Make sure you have a decent floor jack and some jack stands. Plan about 6 hours and I bet you have it done in less than 3.

    I have most of those tools already...I think the only thing I'd be concerned about is stripping bolts or not being able to get them off. I am at 60k right now, garage kept truck...but I'm sure rust is going to be a challenge.

    I doubt you will have any issue removing the bolts. Hit them with PB Blaster the night before and you will be fine.
