    So basically you got nothing.

Let me know next time you are 500+ miles from a pump running duel gas tanks and duel gas cans then we can talk.. Won't find that in 'Murica

There are plenty of places with no gas within driving distance here in the Northeast.

They have value, do people use them to look cool sure. People buy Tacomas to look cool too.

Relax man, I think everyone here would agree that when you're out in the back country its definitely a good idea to have extra fuel on hand.
Good for filling the dirt bike.

    Northern Maine and Vermont.

And considering they have been selling gas cans for years I guess that's evidence that humanity isn't nearly as good at planning as you.

Good lord, do you ever travel off road? Tell you what - try filling up your Taco at Stovepipe Wells, then driving out beyond Racetrack Playa while towing a small camping trailer into a 20-30MPH headwind (not at all uncommon in DV), and tell me where you run out of gas (with no cell service) on the way back.

You'd think if you were going to take the time to plan a trip into the great wilderness, you would take the time to calculate gas consumption.

Thats only 72 miles via road. I thought we were offroading not towing trailers.

Furnace Creek Gas station is like 10 miles from Stovepipe wells

Of course... that doesn't mean the people you are with or those you encounter do.

Or that your/their ATV's don't run out as well. But hey I guess being extra cautious makes us the a hole.

Who knew there was so much disdain for gas cans.

I usually bring gas for the chainsaw in case trees are down or i need to trim low branches. I get the point of gas cans, they look cool, serve a purpose, most people just dont need them for their truck. ATVs dirtbikes sure

Agreed. Most people will never need jumper cables or the tools they keep in their vehicles but it doesn't hurt to have em.

There are plenty of people who attach them simply to look the part.

Hahaha! No disdain here man! Like I said earlier, I think Rotopax are frickin awesome! Do I think there are just as good or better/more economical options out there? Yes. Its funny how riled up people get when you say something they don't like about something they have.

Personally I think they are cool and designed in a way that take up less space and are secure. One day I will get one of my own.
