    Was it the rollerblade comments that sent this thread spiraling? I feel bad I owned a pair back in the 90's. The good ones with the clamp around the ankles too.

    Pony Express trail in UT. Fill up at the station in Eagle Mountain. Take it all the way to Callao, down to Gandy, camp in the Deep Creek range and drive over to Delta through Marjum pass. You WILL need spare fuel. You will not pass within 40 miles of a gas station.

    though according to the trail.

    Pony Express Trail Drive is a 122.3 mile point-to-point trail located near Fairfield, Utah. Recreational offroad drive thats super easy..

    again, not so remote you cant get gas.

    I carry Rotopax on my Bote, and when my Bote is on my Taco than it too has spare fuel. This thread is silly, Rotopax are awesome. But.......

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKK the asshole who made up the law that they need the EPA Cap thingy. Jesus can anyone pour gas without it leaking anymore??? In the US combined we must spill 7 Million gallons of gas a year because of those caps. Ughhhhh... rant over.

    Rotopax = Good

    Gov’t regulation = infuriating.

    This is all assuming a fixed MPG. My truck gets 13 mpg on the highway, and offroad I'm averaging anywhere from 4-8 mpg depending on the terrain. Let's assume I'm cruising and get 8mpg. If I were to use every last drop, I'd get 168 miles out of that tank. That's pushing it too close for comfort for my liking.

    It seems like you're looking down on anyone who carries spare fuel because "it's obviously not necessary" but why not be prepared and err on the side of caution like we do with every other facet of off roading and camping? I really hope I don't have to use a tourniquet out there, but I have one. Is that silly?
