hey fellas, after a while of looking and wanting, I sprung on a 97 tacoma a couple weeks ago. Just over 200k on the clock, and bought it with quite a few brand new mods on it.
Brand new ARB bumper with a Warn M8000 installed, OME 3” lift, ARB compressor, and 33” BFG muds. Drivetrain is bone stock, probably gonna keep it that way.
Kind of a unicorn find. Regular cab with a V6 and factory rear locker.
Looking forward to getting this thing on the trails this summer!

    Thanks dude.
Frame looks cherry, plus the prev. owner coated it with line-x or something similar. Pretty stoked about that!

Hahaha we’ll see dude, not sure how much I’ll be able to cram inside the cab sound wise. That said, it’s been a while since I’ve driven anything without Bluetooth/hands-free, much less no CD player, so I’ll have to at least get a new deck.

Holy crap that is a unicorn...to my knowledge the rear locker was only added on by request in the pre-TRD package days, so that makes it even more rare...and its a v6 single cab. B-e-a-utiful

I've got a Pioneer touch-screen head unit, JBL component speakers, Rockford Fosgate amp (which powers the JBLs), and Kicker 8" powered sub in my '10 RC. Everything fits just fine!

Pioneer head unit: $325 on Crutchfield
Clarion backup camera: $100 on Crutchfield
Backup camera license plate mount: $25 on Crutchfield
JBL component speakers: $86 on Amazon
Kicker 8" Hideaway powered subwoofer: $150 (refurbished) on Amazon
Rock Fosgate amplifier: $86 on Amazon

Cost of installation: 12-pack of Michelob Ultra for my neighbor plus reimbursement for like $6 in materials.

I had a basic Pioneer single-DIN head unit and Pioneer component speakers installed in 2013 after more than 2 years with the shitty factory system. The original all-Pioneer setup cost me $240, plus another $125 or so for installation. My neighbor helped me replace the first Pioneer with a Sony double-DIN, which had a $280 MSRP, but was funded by court-ordered restitution money (I was hit by a drunk driver in October 2015; See photo at bottom of post). The Sony turned out to be a lemon, which Crutchfield allowed me to exchange for a Boss BV960N. I hated the Boss and had it for barely a year before I dropped $325 on the new Pioneer...

Damn dude that’s sweet!! I’ll take a look into that or something similar. A lot more affordable than I was expecting. Gotta get a tonneau cover and a gate lock too.
One more thing to add to the list....
